Then don't watch this:

Sarah | 13814 comments I'm not afraid of heights for other people. Mine comes and goes. I'm ok with tall buildings. And roller coasters. I can't step out on the invisible-floor part of the CN tower, though. And I've tried climbing walls twice and dragged myself to the top both times using only my arms because I couldn't step up and push off with my legs. Somehow that was too scary. And up high on ropes courses I have been known to lose it. I get through it, but not without a lot of sweating and shaking.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments not in the least. i climb trees still and have done the climbing walls, jumped off cliffs into water (not exactly cliff diving), done sky-diving and bungee jumping and much of the work i do is up in the air

Dan Schwent (akagunslinger) Awesome video, Sallers. Much better than that one of the guy who tries to dive into a river and smacks his face on the way down that some of my co-workers tricked me into watching.

I'm not afraid of heights, although I have faint memories of a helicopter ride in my pre-teen years that I've almost completely blocked out. My gf is deathly afraid of heights and hates when I'm motivated to climb things and walk to the edge of cliffs when we go hiking.

I'm afraid of man made heights. I don't like being on towers, in elevators, on top of buildings, or on upper stories of tall buildings.

I don't have a problem with cliffs or tall mountains, even ropes courses are ok while I'm in the trees or connected by a rope.

That video made my feet and palms seriously sweat in fear.

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Holy Bejesus yes. Inside. Outside. Looking up. Looking down. I'm a goddamn Dr. Seuss book of afraid of heights.

message 7: by Suefly (new)

Suefly | 620 comments I hate heights. As a child, climbing stairs without backing (open style stairs, like at stadiums) would simply paralyze me. I also still get sweaty palms when watching movies like Vertigo. I'm a baby!

I might be able to do the first part - where he seems to be climbing inside some type of cage. If I'm surrounded by walls I'll feel better. But the free climbing part, no way. The last 60 feet is insane. And then at the top, standing on a platform no wider than his two feet. Pass.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm okay with regular heights, with guard rails and stuff, and I've even done stuff like rapelling, but that tower climb was insanely high, and made me extremely tense.

message 13: by Jane (new)

Jane Most definitely! Any place where I can look down from a great height and I get woozy, which I got from watching just half of this video. Holy crap.

message 14: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (kristicasey) Deathly! And I was stupid enough a few years ago to believe that you have to face your fears.

Oh yea! I did the stupid. I went on one of those large bungee/swing rides at an amusement park with my niece and her boyfriend. I wanted to cry 1/2 way up!!

Go ahead and laugh. My husband did. And I do now that time has gone by.

Though at the time, when I finally got off the &%&)#)# ride, my legs were so shaky, I had to sit down immediately.

Sad to say, now I'm more afraid then before.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I used to rappel (sp) a lot, so I had to get over that fear pretty quickly.

My husband and I stood on the top of Tokyo Tower in Japan and I loved the area that had a glass floor. I couldn't even get my husband to walk over it. He's terrified of things like that.

Michele bookloverforever (lovebooks14) | 1970 comments depends. inside tall buildings,no...on top of ladders or looking down a long flight of stairs, yes..I'm afraid of falling. I have balance problems and osteoporosis...more a fear of falling than a fear of heights I guess.

message 20: by Pat (new)

Pat (patb37) I'd take that job in a minute if I could get it.
I love heights, love the sensation falling.

Where I may have trouble is the wind. High winds make me anxious.

message 21: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix (phoenixapb) | 1619 comments I'd go up in a hot air balloon, I'm fine on a plane, I'll even climb a pretty high cliff, but no freakin way would I climb up that builing...waaayyy too high, and only one little hook for saftey...no thank you!
I'm still fighting off the dizziness from watching that video!

message 22: by Leslie (new)

Leslie (lesslie) I love heights. When I was a girl, I had this awesome tree in our back yard that was perfect for reading. My twin, however, is so wussy about heights that she avoids bridges and overpasses. She sticks to surface roads and takes FOREVER to get anywhere that way.
