Kerry (rocalisa) | 487 comments I have Seer of Sevenwaters and The Bards of Bone Plain on pre-order.

message 3: by Candiss (new)

Candiss (tantara) | 1207 comments Blue and Gold looks interesting. I might check that one out.

I had Galileo's Dream on my Amazon pre-release wishlist for ages, but iffy reviews have dampened my enthusiasm quite a bit.

message 4: by Marty (new)

Marty (martyjm) | 310 comments I'll read the Weber/ Flint and also the Scalzi probably. I'll read a blurb to decide.

By the way, I really appreciate these lists Stefan. Helps me to not miss things I want.

I'll probably keep my eyes open for the Patricia McKillip...she's one of my favorites :)

Nothing really caught my eye this time.

Phoenixfalls | 187 comments The Bards of Bone Plain is it for me as well. But I'm really excited about it! :)

Looking at the list again, I'm VERY intrigued by People of the Book. Is the Beagle who's editing the Peter S. version? I know that he is Jewish...

message 10: by Candiss (last edited Nov 30, 2010 11:44PM) (new)

Candiss (tantara) | 1207 comments I somehow totally missed the short stories by Harry Turtledove when I first went through this list. I will probably track that one down some time.

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) I'm looking forward to The Good, the Bad, and the Uncanny by Simon R. Green. I've generally enjoyed his Nightside series. It was starting to slump a few books ago, but the last book was back on form, and got me looking forward to the new arc which seems to be developing.

message 12: by Ron (last edited Dec 04, 2010 07:16PM) (new)

Ron (ronbacardi) | 302 comments What catches my eye are the Joe Haldeman book and Robinson's "Galileo's Dream" in paperback. Is "Dust of Dreams" just being released in paperback now in the US? It has been out in Canada for, I think, a couple of months now, and I have one waiting -- I just started the seventh book and seem unable to read anything else but Erikson. Even "Under Heaven" is on hold until I run out of Tales of the Fallen.

message 13: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (breakofdawn) Sad to say that nothing in the list really catches me this month...

Janny (jannywurts) | 1006 comments Kerry wrote: "I have Seer of Sevenwaters and The Bards of Bone Plain on pre-order."

Exactly my picks.
I got the McKillip as a gift, and will pursue the other one on my next book store trip.

message 15: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sleo) | 1141 comments I have a sample of the McKillip. Will read if I get to it, but probably next month.

message 16: by Jeff (new)

Jeff Watson | 55 comments Sandra, I cannot imagine that you won't like McKillip given the authors on your list and whom you like. Very lyric in flavor with wonderful etheric underpinnings. I've started Bards. Hmmmmm... yummm!
