[Top Next-in-Series]
1. Play of Passion by Nalini Singh
I can't say enough good things about this author. I love this series and Guild Hunters as well. The way she can write a story about such an interesting world that unfolds a little at a time with each book on top of the HEAs makes this series one of my all-time, gotta read it ASAP, pre-order every single book, PNR series. The build-up to Hawke's story is becoming painful. I can't imagine the pressure authors must feel for such highly anticipated books. She's never let me down, so I know "Kiss of Snow" is bound to be all that I hope for and more.
2. Pray for Dawn by Jocelynn Drake
"Dark Days" is a fun series. But, the tension between Mira and Danaus was drivin' me insane. Thankfully, with "Pray for Dawn", Drake offered up some relief in the form of Danaus' POV. I LOVED it! I hope we will get more books from his POV in the future.
3. Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews
The Andrews duo tops my list of UF writers, even more, if possible, after Magic Bleeds. The series has been such a fun ride to date and this book offered up exactly what we've been waiting for + all the things we love about the series. They MUST have a crystal ball handy b/c they never fail to bring it, but good!
4. Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs
I've been following Miss Mercy since the beginning and love reading about her and the Tri-Cities clan. Anyone who can leave out one of my favorite vamps (Stefan) and I don't miss him has written a great book! This book reinforced in my mind, when the previous book didn't entirely have me convinced, that Mercy & Adam belong together.
5. Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews
I enjoyed our introduction to "The Edge", but this book was one of my favorites for the year, for sure. I really liked William in book #1 and was sad he didn't get his girl. However, they {Ilona & Gordon} did it again and offered up an absolute perfect match for him in "Bayou Moon". Cerise is a strong warrior in her own right and the two of them quickly became one of my favorite couples. Another big hit by the Andrews couple!

[Top First-in-series]
1. Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane
I have to hand it to Ms. Kane. This series is unlike anything I've read to date. She's created a strange, dark and twisted world where readers fall in love with a guy named Terrible, who's appearance isn't one you might want gracing a cover, and an amazingly strong while extremely weak drug-addicted, ghost hunting witch. It's confusing that something so sad could be so good.
2. Black Dust Mambo by Adrian Phoenix
Adrian Phoenix provided us with the start to another great series with "Black Dust Mambo". As much as I love her "Maker's Song" series, I was happy that the world she's created in "Hoodoo" is less complex and a bit more light-hearted. The banter between Kallie and Bella was a hoot, Augustine, the brit sorcerer was an absolute riot and I love the whole hoodoo, voodoo, vessel, shaman, sorcerer, medium-filled world!

[Top End-of-series: RIP]
1. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
While I was hoping for a different ending, I got the one that most fit Katniss' situation and life up until the end. By the end of the book, I was happy for her and the life she was able to make for herself following the games and district wars. I was SO happy that I started this series and SO sad to see it end.
2. Sin Undone by Larissa Ione
I absolutely love UGH and the demons of "Demonica". I devoured this series in 2010 and look forward to "Lords of Deliverance" in 2011. Larissa did a great job of creating this world, I'm sure she'll do the same with the next. The little teasers throughout "Sin Undone" about the horsemen, have me even more excited to get my hands on it.
3. Alpha by Rachel Vincent
Between Jul 2009 and Nov 2010, I revealed in the world of Faythe and her pack. She started out as a slightly (I'm being nice here) annoying, "trying to stay out of the family business and have my own life" college student and ended up ruling the roost. (Wait? Roost? Pack! LOL) Yeah, so I wasn't "on the winning team", but I felt that everyone ended up where they should be and with who they should be with. The series was one of the biggest emotional roller coaster rides of any I've read so far. Rachel had me laughing, dreaming, crying (don't do that! not nice!) and bitchin' throughout the whole series. Any book(s) that get that range of reaction from me deserve to be in my top favorites, not just of 2010, list.
4. As Shadows Fade by Colleen Gleason
Colleen is an author who made me fall in love with a historical (PN)romance series so much that I read the whole series (5 bks) in five straight days. Which is amazing b/c I don't like HR books. Or at least, I thought I didn't. Maybe I just hadn't read a good one before this series. I'm really looking forward to her next series "Regency Draculia" and hope I enjoy it just as much or more than "Gardella Vampire Chronicles".
5. As the World Dies by Rhiannon Frater
I loved the zombie-filled world Rhiannon created! This trilogy grabbed me with it's delicious gore and freaky images ... "those tiny fingers ... pressed under the door ... tips of tiny fingers raw and skinless" It was AWESOME! You can't help but cheer on Jenni and Katie as they battle to stay alive in this world of nightmares! More please!!
