Technically a 2010 book, but I'll add it in here.
Weird story about a woman kidnapped as a kid and held captive in a room with the child she has by the man who kidnapped her. They escape "Room" which is all very confusing to the boy. The story is especially weird since its told from the 5 year olds point of view.

A reporter uncovers the truth about a man she thought she caught on a "to catch a predator" type show. I had kind of given up on Harlan Coben, but this book was great and a change from what was getting to be the usual.

A brother takes his sister on a weekend trip to thier family's old vacation spot for her fortieth birthday. They end up uncovering the truth about their mothers life. Nothing profound, but a good read.

half way through- its a good book, but holy cow, it makes me NEVER want to go to Sweden. The book makes it seem like its all bad weather, gross food and some serious nut jobs...not exactly a ringing endorsement.
Ok, finished. The story got exciting once it actually got going, but then after the main climax the denouement went on for ONE HUNDRED PAGES. What the what??? Someone could've used a little restraint in editing, thats all I'm saying. It ruined the whole book for it to just never end after the real excitement was over.

Mickey Haller and Harry Bosch team up to put a convicted child killer back in jail after he gets out on appeal. Glad to see Michael Connelly back to form after the somewhat disappointing 9 Dragons last year.

again I say -what the what? 100 pages in and I am even more afraid of sweden than I was with the first book.
OK, so I finished this stupid book. What is wrong with me? I didint like this book and I didnt like the first one and YET!!! I could not stop reading either one.

The last Spencer book from Robert B parker before he died. Great read as always- this time Spencer is on the hunt for a missing paitning that was stolen during the Holocaust and a ring of art theives posing as a foundation to restore objets d'art to their rightful owners.

Cold War era book about an old Russian mole high up in the US that has finally come to light years later. As always, nelson Demille is an awesome read!

The Man from St Petersburg
Story of a Russian anarchist set on assisinating a member of the Russian royal court while he is in London, on the eve of WW1. Good book, great writing but I could see the plot twists halfway through the book. I am going to credit that to my being cynical and this book being almost 30 years old. I am sure that in 1982 the ending of this book was unbeleievably shocking, but nothing surprises much these days.

Two men are fighting over the chance to be the next premier of China. When one finds out that China has a limitless supply of abiotic oil Cotton and Casseopia are drawn into the mix along with eunuchs and an ancient brotherhood called the Ba. Great change after the very disappointing Paris Vendetta.

A group of people on a commune get word that the state is taking back the land to flood their valley and make way for a new power station. To keep California from doing that they figure out how to start earthquakes and it is up to an FBI agent to track them down and stop them.

Essays about being a new mom from a mom with a realistsic PoV. I agree with her on most stuff but the funny feels a bit contrived

a biotech firm is trying to create an antivirus for a strain of ebola and everyone wants to steal it. The black sheep son of the family is involved with a trio of criminals who try and steal the virus on Christmas day.

Intrigue surrounding Henry VIII and his plans to divorce Katherine of Aragon from the PoV of Thomas Cromwell. I am not a huge fan of historical novels, but this is really good.
finally finished reading Wolf Hall after 5 weeks. It was a good book but since I clearly did not pay attention in high school during european history or history of the catholic church it required multiple wikipedia trips

Surprisingly deep and abstract essays from Patton Oswald. And he likes REM- two thumbs up.
