There is a wall outside of Edgeview. It's topped with barbed wire and has only one gate in it, with one (or two) gate guards.
The windows are glass filled with barbed wire.
There is now way out other than the gate, and, though few (few!!) students know it, an old, hollow pipe in the back of the yard that leads under the wall and into town (the town of Edgeview). It is big enough for several people to walk through comfortably, but completely dark.

This is like a boarding school, except for 'troubled kids'. No bikes as far as I know.
Yep. Parents are apparently only allowed to take their kids out on Weekends.

Town details
Edgeview School is right next to a town with the same name (Edgeview). Kids in the town, who go to the normal school(s), call our charries "Alters" and most Alters call them "Edgies."
The Edgies are afraid of Alters. Heck, practically anybody outside of the school and their relatives are scared of Alters. Even though most of them aren't that bad. And the Edgies hate Alters.
Inside town, there is a video game arcade called "Mondovideo." Beyond that, feel free to make up whateva :)
There are 3 floors to Edgeview.
The 1st floor - Ground floor
The principal's/main office is located here. Also the cafeteria (the food there is at best nauseating, at its worst toxic) and the gym. Maybe a few classrooms.
The 2nd floor
Most of the classrooms are here. Also a room where a teacher always sleeps overnight and on the weekends (Principal Davis stays over most nights, but not in the teacher's room).
The 3rd floor
Students' rooms are here. Some of them are so tiny only one bed can fit in it. Most of the rooms have two students in them.
