Reading the Chunksters discussion

I wasn't sure where to post this... so root folder. :S

I just finished Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor.

I gave this book 5 stars, although it deserved 10 billion. About 1,000 pages of amazing adventures, brilliant characters and all of it seeped in a historical time period that I love more than any other.

I'm posting about this here, because 1. it's a chunkster, but also 2. because I loved this book so much I want to tell all the rest of you about it! I spent 2 months reading it, and could have finished it in less, only I made myself slow down. It's really that amazing!


(This is historical fiction based in England, fyi. :) )

Shockingly I read this in my mid teens and it was my mother who lent it to me! I absolutely adored it. I must re-read it some time.

I was lucky to have a mother that was fairly libral with what she let me read, Xeni. She gave me Flowers in the Attic when I was about twelve, too!

Yeah, I stole flowers in the attic from my older sister when I was 14. It really scarred me!

I have a copy of Vanity Fair back at home... About 2000 km away. So Gutenburg for me!

Now I'm going to have to read Flowers in the Attic...

Yeah, it's intense... most of Andrew's books are. xD

The whole series is one depressing and/or disturbing event after another until the uncompromising end, but I made it through somehow!

I couldn't get past the first book... I tried the second, but it was so much worse. xD

Same with the Orphans series!

I loved Forever Amber! Have read twice!
