♥Xeni♥ (xeni) I wasn't sure where to post this... so root folder. :S

I just finished Forever Amber Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor by Kathleen Winsor.

I gave this book 5 stars, although it deserved 10 billion. About 1,000 pages of amazing adventures, brilliant characters and all of it seeped in a historical time period that I love more than any other.

I'm posting about this here, because 1. it's a chunkster, but also 2. because I loved this book so much I want to tell all the rest of you about it! I spent 2 months reading it, and could have finished it in less, only I made myself slow down. It's really that amazing!

(This is historical fiction based in England, fyi. :) )

Amanda Shockingly I read this in my mid teens and it was my mother who lent it to me! I absolutely adored it. I must re-read it some time.

Kristi (kristicoleman) Hi there Miss Amanda!! Good to see you!

message 9: by ♥Xeni♥ (new)

♥Xeni♥ (xeni) I wish I had found this in my teens xD I probably would have read it a few times cover to cover!

Pretty neat that your mom gave it to you, though!

Amanda Hey there Kristi! I couldn't resist...I'm going to try and do Vanity Fair in my lunch breaks! I'll cram it all in somehow...

I was lucky to have a mother that was fairly libral with what she let me read, Xeni. She gave me Flowers in the Attic when I was about twelve, too!

message 11: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (kristicoleman) Great! It will be a fun read!

message 12: by ♥Xeni♥ (new)

♥Xeni♥ (xeni) Yeah, I stole flowers in the attic from my older sister when I was 14. It really scarred me!

I have a copy of Vanity Fair back at home... About 2000 km away. So Gutenburg for me!

Kristi (kristicoleman) Now I'm going to have to read Flowers in the Attic...

Edited to add: ok, maybe not, after reading what it's about!! Yikes!!

message 14: by ♥Xeni♥ (new)

♥Xeni♥ (xeni) Yeah, it's intense... most of Andrew's books are. xD

message 15: by Amanda (new)

Amanda The whole series is one depressing and/or disturbing event after another until the uncompromising end, but I made it through somehow!

message 16: by ♥Xeni♥ (new)

♥Xeni♥ (xeni) I couldn't get past the first book... I tried the second, but it was so much worse. xD

Same with the Orphans series!

Sandi *~The Pirate Wench~* (thepiratewench) I loved Forever Amber! Have read twice!
