Don, I read this last year and was underwhelmed. It was OK, but I didn't think it lived up to the hype.

How did you find this one? and wow, 12 already?? I am way too slow for this challange this year...

This sounds like a good one! It's not a topic I've seen much written on, and it sounds like this author did a good job of it. I'll have to add it to the TBR.
Don, I have this one to read. I've heard some mixed reviews, most are similar to yours. People say it's not for everyone but has a lot of good factors.

by Karen Armstrong"
This one looks like it'd be very interesting...I have a BA in Theology, so this kinda stuff is right up my alley!!
I recently saw Shutter Island the movie. I thought it was really good but odd...lol At the end we were all like "hmmmmm sooo that was interesing!"

I like this series too!!!

Don, I also thought this book was very touching. The relationship he shared with the Rabbi was so meaningful and beautiful.

Don, this sounds like a very interesting topic. Would you say this book is more for a theologian/pastor, or more for a lay person?

That is a good idea! I am trying to get through the pulitser for fiction list myself! But there are lots of Newberry winners I would like to go back and read (i had to read alot of them in school, I remember!)

72.Where Trouble Sleeps by Clyde Edgerton. (3.5 stars) Story is set in the south in the 50's, follow..."
3 More to go!!! You are rockin' this challenge!!
Don, I was smiling while reading your post about the Picture of Dorian Gray. I think one of the fascinating aspects of reading and just human nature in general is how our perspective or interpretation changes. I also think it is so nice that you and your wife can chat about books. I'm hoping someday my dear hunny will take up reading.
Don, I like reading certin books at specific times during the year. A cozy Christmas book at this time of year rates right up there with time well spent :)

This is a fun series! I have it on my "To read again someday" shelf! I would call these Comfort food in book form! =) Merry Christmas!

I have been reading Christmas-themed books as well, I think I might have to get Shepherds Abiding out. Really enjoyed that story!
