I think I'm already like Petra's e-daughter. Michele's totally grandma, that super lovable grandma whom you can't wait to go visit, and you'd actually call them without your parents making you.

I see KD as like, that guy who's really close to family and shows up at all of the family gatherings, and no one can quite figure out how he's related.

This Tadpole person seems to be like the UPS guy: Shows up every once in a while, everyone is glad to see him, and sometimes he brings a treat for the dog.

Sally, the book's pretty dense and hyper-literate. I still haven't finished it; I've been reading it in bits and spurts, but I find it very interesting.

Hyper-literate is an interesting term. Have you ever watched the author on YouTube? His theories on music and sound are very interesting, imho.

I can be a grampa to some, a dad to others, it doesn't matter as long as I get to be in the family.

No I didn't have any preconceived ideas at all. It just sounded euphemistic.

OK, in that case, coming out from under the table is a euphemism for when someone joins a party reluctantly. "John didn't think he'd have fun tonight, so I practically had to drag him here. Now that he's out from under the table, he's having a good time."

Lori and I are sisters. I'm the tall aunt with the 70s glasses and the big purse.

I wouldn't kick you in the shins, RA. I'm the nice cousin! I'd be helping out with the cooking, and taking plates back to the kitchen with Bun. Where we would be gossiping about everyone NOT in the kitchen. :)

Besides, you do yourself enough injury, as the image of your bloody toes continues to remind us.
