Pop music works kinda like drugs. You know when it’s great but when it’s horrible you might flatline.
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppppppppppp...
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppppppppppp...
And luv them names. Danger Mouse? Clap Your Hands Say Yeah? The Bad Plus? The Swell Season? Gimme a break... I bet the head pipes were smoking when they came up with those.

Sometimes the truth hurts. I feel my IQ points tumbling just reading the list.

You wouldn't say that if you could watch me try to figure out 8th-grade algebra. Talk about head pipes smoking.

I saw her in concert in 03 I think? And that was her first album tour.
Before you ask...it was a date night thing. However, I saw more weed smoking there than I ever did at any metal concert.

Christ, those nitwits even make me ashamed to say I'm from Detroit.

White-boy, trailer-trash hip hop. Think fat women with ungodly butterfly tattoos on their ankles or calves and cigarette-fragrant dudes with tragic face piercings and you're nearly there.

Yeah, in the sideshow.
Yeah, in the sideshow.

And John Wayne Gacy.
And John Wayne Gacy.

Juggalos, on the other hand, are extremely creepy. Someone with youtube capability should link to the infomercial about their big music festival.

animal collective - merriweather post pavilion
the flaming lips - yoshimi battles the pink robots
iron & wine - our endless numbered days
panda bear - person pitch
tv on the radio - return to cookie mountain

We decided to make the list alphabetical, not numbered. We saw no way to compare a passion for classical music with a Radiohead opus, or pianist Jason Moran with Danger Mouse's The Grey Album. We make these lists not to exclude certain recordings, but to turn people on to music that we feel stands out the most in an unimaginably crowded field.
