Liesl (lieslm) | 170 comments Hi -- I just joined this group yesterday and jumped right into some of the discussions without introducing myself -- how rude of me! Anyway, looks like a fun group that will help me build up my already-too-long TBR list. What fun!

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) Hi Liesl and welcome to the group.

Have you read The Book Thief yet? That's the August pick and you're in it!

ScottK | 535 comments welcome!!

message 4: by Liesl (last edited Aug 02, 2008 01:24PM) (new)

Liesl (lieslm) | 170 comments Nope -- but it's on my TBR list so I'm really glad you picked it and will go out to buy it tomorrow. No time today -- my husband is a wedding photographer and I'm his lovely (tee hee) assistant. We're photographying a wedding today so I'm going to be too busy until tomorrow. Really looking forward to reading it!

Liesl (lieslm) | 170 comments Oh, yeah Boof, I forgot the main character in The Book Thief is called Liesel. Well, hopefully I won't be reduced to book thievery anytime soon :).

Books to the sky,
My pile of books is a mile high.
How I love them! How I need them!
I'll have a long beard by the time I read them."

Someone Youmayknow (momar13) Hello all. Just want to introduce myself. Just another bibliophile hopelessly addicted like the rest of you! Can't wait to start reading the posts and commenting.

Please feel free to join in the August book reads if you are interested in either, or both :)

message 13: by Chloe (new)

Chloe (countessofblooms) | 1128 comments I always read about Lake Winnaupasakee (sp?) and think of What About Bob?

message 14: by ScottK (new)

ScottK | 535 comments Or On Golden Pond ....that whole movie is on the Lake Whose Name We Can't Spell. Patrick actually knows some folks who made some of the props.

message 15: by Chloe (new)

Chloe (countessofblooms) | 1128 comments Awwww... Old Katherin Hepburn is cute. I could care less for whichever Fonda was in it, but Hepburn will always make me smile. It's a holdover from The Philadelphia Story. My two favorite actors in one place, how can I resist that?

message 16: by Liesl (new)

Liesl (lieslm) | 170 comments Thanks everyone for making me feel welcome. One of the things I love about this group is the friendliness and respect that I see in the posts. Seems like a great place to be.

Sherry -- You're right, Poitier really does seem like a classy guy. I just love him.

Welcome Liesl. It's a very fun group. Hard to keep up with, but fun!

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome Maureen and Liesl. Your lives are now irrevocably changed.

message 22: by Val (new)

Val Nichols | 159 comments Jeremy, I couldn't agree more! I feel rather overwhelmed at times trying to keep up, so much that I don't even look at each thread and each post, so I know I'm missing some great conversations.

And I didn't even manage to greet Maureen and Liesl...oy vey, I'm a mess!

Welcome to you both!
