Fill in the blank. Answer with one sentence followed by a paragraph (five paragraphs) of explanation. Must use cause/effect, compare/contrast, or process analysis.

Go.

Dan Schwent (akagunslinger) The best burger I've ever had (as far as I can remember) was in 2009 at the Mackinaw Brewery in Travers City, Michigan. It was a half pound burger with melted cheddar cheese, bacon, and onions cooked in beer. There were some traces of pink in the middle. It was delicious. The ale I enjoyed with said burger might have enhanced its deliciousness.

I shall attempt to find a picture of me enjoying the burger for full effect.

Nice answer, Dan! And with forthcoming visual evidence to boot!

Phil | 11837 comments The best job I ever had was my first, when I worked at McDonald's as a teen.

That job taught me to work hard, to always try to do better, to work well with others and to be organized in my work. It also taught me that the tax man always gets his piece of the pie.

Félix (habitseven) The best massage I ever had was at the Four Seasons spa on the big island Hawaii. The person who performed this as part of a couples massage was amazingly strong and skilled, while being a petite young woman.

At one point she actually climbed up and placed her knees in the middle of my thighs (while prone) and worked on my back, shoulders and arms.

Overall, it was heavenly. If I could afford it, I would go there and have her do that every day for the rest of my life.

Barb, I'm sensing that you were upset about the loss of both your mugs. Am I correct?

I could tell. Would you like to talk about it, Barb? I'm here for you.

Michael The best job I've ever had was as a movie theater usher because I got free movies and free food and I got to wear a uniform and carry a flashlight.

Félix (habitseven) Stupid twat.

I swear, you were linked to my mind. I almost posted the exact same thing. It's somehow funnier coming from you though, smetchie.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments ice cream, was in a village called Ojague in Guinea West Africa

because it was made for me by some missionary friends way out in the bush by using all of their solar power for like 4 days to run a mini fridge/freezer and make like 6 ice cubes a day until they had enough to make homemade ice cream with a crank deal using sugar cane, fresh cream from a goat and fruit for flavoring. we each (two of us) got like 1-1/2 cups of ice cream. totally a surprise and a wonderful act of kindness and friendship

Yes. I actually cried a little bit for the first one."

*hugs Barb* May I offer to get you a replacement mug? I have a friend who is a potter, and she could make you something different enough that you weren't trying to replace your milk mug but start a new tradition.

Kevin, thank you for sharing that.

The best bath I've ever had was after I spent an entire August day moving into my current house, and after everything had been moved and my help had all been fed and left, I had a long bath with cool water and peppermint-lavender bubble bath, body wash and sugar scrub.

Janice (jamasc) The best vacation I had was when we went skiing in Austria.

The year before, we were bumped on a flight coming home from Hawaii. We were given 2 free tickets to go anywhere in the world that Canadian Pacific flew. (It's no surprise that they are no longer in business if they kept handing out free tickets whenever they screwed up.)

We traded our timeshare to Maria Alms, Austria. We flew to Munich, rented a car and drove to Maria Alms. We went to so many interesting places and met some incredible people like the Dutch skiers we met on the ski hill who shared their schnapps with us, and the dog who didn't understand English.

message 20: by Annette (new)

Annette Hart | 172 comments The best meal I ever had was on honeymoon (I know, very cheesey). It was spaghetti with a seafood sauce. I don't really like squid/octopus/rubbery things with suckers but I thoroughly enjoyed feeding the ciabata to the fish in the sea below as the sun went down. Of course, like Dan in the second post, I suspect it might have been as much to do with the Peroni beer than the chef's abilities.

Oh - we were in the old harbour, Sorrento.

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments The best boat ride I ever had was a ferry ride out to an island off Seattle. I forgot the name of the island. The sky was bright and blue, I could sit inside so I wouldn't freak out like I usually do on boats, and the wind was clean and a little cold.

The best hike I ever took was on the Castle trail in the South Dakota badlands. It's maybe twelve miles and I feel like I'm on the moon when I walk it. I've done it...I think three times in the last decade.
