That's great advice Cheryl! It's great find all kinds of challenges that you can try out and if you succeed that challenge, then your self-esteem will definitely increase! Like, I'm trying to challenge myself everyday to see if I can succeed in the activities that I am doing.

I have self esteem issues as well. One way for me to increase my self esteem has been to engage in discussions on Goodreads. Like Cheryl has said, it is a long term project.
I also engage myself on Goodreads! I just have so many good friends here that I try to go on Goodreads and chat everyday!

But in person I have tendency to be pretty nervous and I do have a knack for being awckward and somewhat uncoordinated. Goodreads is sometimes much easier, mostly because I don't have to judge tone of voice or body language (I have a real problem with that at times, I just found out that it actually is a kind of learning disability called non-verbal-learning-disability, although that sounds weird because I am verbal, I am just very inorganised etc.)

Ha, ha, that's funny.
I have always been nervous, all my life. I now believe its just my biochemistry. In about 2006 I was told that I have celiac disease which may be partly the cause for this. A person who has celiac should NEVER eat the gluten in wheat and yet our whole society is based around wheat bread which contains gluten. The gluten damages the celiac causing us not to absorb the vitamins we need so we are always suffering from malnutrition. I have read 3 or 4 books about it the best one being Celiac Disease A Hidden Epidemic.
Back in 1983 and 1984 I was so sick with it I couldn't walk right. They thought I might have ms but its probably gluten ataxia!!!! The gluten can cause a celiac to stagger around! I also drop things and suffer from "brain fog". I now inject B12 which helps. Most doctors never think of this and consider it to be super rare but actually its not rare.
It may be connected to autism (Unraveling the Mystery of Autism) and other illnesses. Try to learn a little about it in case you have it so you won't go all your life suffering and not knowing what the problem is! I can warn you now that getting off gluten is extremely difficult. Just try it for one day. Let me know and remember not to feed your baby wheat for at least one year. You can save a child a lifetime of suffering by not giving it wheat. Today's wheat is also being bred to have more and more gluten so its doing more and more damage.

I'm doing pretty great lately! I'm still trying to complete my grad school courses, so hopefully I'll be able to graduate next year!
