SA Book & Challenge Lovers discussion

Hi guys :)

If you didn't know I have a Harry Potter collection that includes: action figures, wands, time turners, poster books, sticker books, dvd's and several different editions of the HP books.

I can get my hands on most Editions, Korean, finish, Spanish, ancient greek etc. (just a bit costly)

So now I come to my point... I don't have the Afrikaans editions, so if anyone sees one of them in a second hand shop and its fairly cheap can you please let me know so I can make a plan? :)

Also any other language? You never know it might just be there :) (oh and Braille included)

If I see one I wouldn't mind buying it and then you could just pay me back. I could just check with you beforehand to see if you've got it. How much are you willing to spend per book?

Oh, and have you checked to see what's available on Bookmooch? You might be able to get foreign language editions there.

I actually just found book 1,3,4 in Afrikaans. R38 each and nr 4 R68. So if we can keep to around these prices it would be good. I know 5,6,7 are bigger so they might be more.

I now have every single edition I could get on bookmooch on my wishlist. I sent a request for a Portuguese edition from Brazil, waiting to hear :)

Hey Lu do you want me to look overhere in the Netherlands for some dutch stuff? Like I don't know if you have Panini sticker books in South Africa, but I have a lot of extra stickers and I do believe some trading cards extra that I can send you. If you don't have panini I think I might even get the latest sticker book for you out of the store. Or I could just look around and see if I see anything in dutch that you might like.

I have the Panini sticker books :) I also have extra stickers! They will be easy to send. We can get together and list which we have, then select what we need, throw it in a envelope and of they go?

I have no trading cards as I have never seen any :(
PS: Where the hell in SA do you get them?
If its not expensive and not a hassle I would love some! Even if its only one :) At least they can fit in a envelope too.

Hey Lu, I have no idea where you would get trading cards in SA. I just bought some in stores here in the Netherlands, where I was born and raised and still live. So that's why I was talking about getting stuff in Dutch. :)
In the Netherlands there is a lot of great stuff like trading cards and action figures and things like that that you can buy in comic book stores.
I know its far off but I might get some great trading cards for you in June. I'm a big trekkie and I am going to attend a Star Trek convention in the United States in June. Normally there are different stand there with trading cards and I can see what they have of Harry Potter and buy it for you and then send it. But I'll first see what cards I have extra here and send them and then you can say if you like them. I just need your adress for that so if you could mail me that in a private mail then I will send something to you this week. I'm going to send some stuff to Niecole too so I have to go to the post office anyway.
I saw your Afrikaans editions on your link. They look great. Congrats with your buy.

Heheh that PS was more a ask everyone and taking my frustration out on how SA never has the stuff I want :)

I know about one comic book store here and I doubt it still exists :(

I saw some Chinese Harry books (not sure if they are legit) and just loved the covers. I've been looking around at German and Flemish editions, but the shops are cruel with their shipping charges to South Africa. Will let you know if I find something cheap. =)
