Tamahome | 7223 comments I first heard of Jo Walton's new book from John Scalzi's 'Big Idea' posts, where he lets authors sum up their new books:

Linda (lindawilkins) Will definately have to check out "Among Others". I'm more of a sword than a laser fan, but recently found the podcast - and I love it. Thanks for all of the work that you do to put this together for us.

Shannon (shaeon) Hey Veronica, click this link and scroll down to Gaiman. ;)

This web site is a great resource that I've used from time to time, because authors tend to have names that defy phonics.

T & V, did you two not read all the way to the end of the First Law trilogy? The spoiler you two were all "wtf" about is right there in Last Argument of Kings

ETA: Sorry, didn't mean to come off snarky :\

Anyways, the scene is right at the end: (view spoiler)

Shame on them for not having 'Ursula K. LeGuin'.

Well yes, but that still spoils things for people who haven't read Last Argument. You get me?

Shannon (shaeon) Agreed, Tamahome. China Mieville is also missing from this list. There needs to be one devoted just to sci fi and fantasy.

I would too. I'm starting to like this Dying Earth sub-genre and wouldn't mind reading some more.

Blurbs from books in a series always do that, it seems. Have you seen the one for Ghost Story? Talk about spoiler.

Better to just not read the blurbs.

I've been anti-blurb for years. It's only after I've read the book that I read the back, and I inevitably think, "Really? that's how you chose to sum up the story?"

Steven Thomsen-Jones (countstex) Hmm, does this provide a community driven project to create some S&L approved blubs for our favourite books?
