Clean Romances discussion

SO glad to have found this group (thanks Elise)! I'm 18, Christian, want to be a writer, was homeschooled, and am studying to be a librarian (the friendly kind who smile at you when you come in, not the tight bun/big glasses type who give you a stern look). Anyway, I'm here because I LOVE books and am always on the hunt for good clean ones. This is such a wonderful group! I'm excited!

Hi, Emily! I'm late in saying hi, but I just wanted to say, I think it's terrific you're writing!

I'm new. I write clean contemporary romance and clean romantic suspense. I have been doing a blog series on clean romance and today my guest blogger is Nancy Naigle, who has mentioned a few of her favorite clean romance authors and stories, and also asked folks to comment on their own favorite authors. i'm looking forward to hearing what everyone loves to read - i'm always on the lookout for new authors. i often find that 19th century novels fall into the clean category. do a lot of you also find yourselves drawn to older novels?

I'm reading Therese's story now and have to keep stopping until my laughter subsides in some parts. Her characters run the gamut of emotions but I have to admit I love this petulant Venus and somewhat bumbling Cupid.

Hi Therese - you'd have fun among my bookshelves. (There's photos of them on my blog.) I do like old books, particularly if they're not too stodgy and wordy. I have titles by Jeffrey Farnol, A.E.W. Mason, Kipling, Baroness Orczy, Rafael Sabatini, P.C. Wren, Elinor Glyn (!), Marie Corelli, Lord Lytton, Mark Twain, Charles Kingsley, V.B. Ibaznez, lots of others.

Can't claim to have read them all, am more a collector these days. And they're not all 19th century, but I'm a patient reader and don't always enjoy the insistence of modern writers to drag one along by the scruff of the neck. In fact, I'm not much interested in the "must have the latest best-seller" trend at all. Call me old-fashioned!

This group was a answer to my hopes and dreams. I have always been a sucker for romance ever since Pride and Prejudice but have found very little clean romances nowadays.
