message 501: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Yes! Although, I thought you were just making fun of Heidi when you said that!

message 502: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Bluemoon wrote: "been debating whether to read hunger games too, but I just dont know if im going to like it..."

Bluemoon - you MUST read the Hunger Games!

message 503: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Shannen wrote: "Why was I thinking Heidi is pro-Gale and Peep is pro-Peeta? Do I have that backwards?"

Um yea... pro Peeta here Shannen. Geez - keep it straight! p.s. Peeta, Peeta, Peeta (subliminal messaging)

message 504: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) We need to (Gale) start a Hunger Games (Gale) topic. You guys (note: not me) are getting off topic (Gale).

@Heidi - what's up with the subliminal (Gale) messages?!?

message 505: by [deleted user] (new)

All I can say is that Gale had better hurry up and make another appearance in this book because I'm starting to fall in love with Peeta. :)

message 506: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Not sure who's team I'm on for Hunger Games... I need to reread them this summer before the last one comes out but I love Katniss. I didn't think I would be into them before I picked up Hunger Games and then I was absorbed. Way more violent then I expected but loved the story!

message 507: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) SHANNEN HOW DARE YOU!!! Peeta!? He's no hunter! He's a gatherer. A gatherer!

message 508: by Traci (new)

Traci @Heidi: I don't know.. I'm about 120 pages into it and I'm not loving it.. I'm not sure that I'll be the one to balance it out haha.. we'll see. There's 400 pages left so I guess I could change my opinion later..

as far as the Hunger Games goes.. Love. absolute love.
I've been team Peeta since the beginning, mostly because we didn't see much of Gale in the first book.. But the second one has started to sway me. Peeta's still on top, but Gale's starting to weasel his way in.. Anxiously awaiting the third installment! :D

message 509: by [deleted user] (new)

So if Gale isn't in this book very much, how am I supposed to fall in love with him? Guess you'll have to wait until I'm reading Catching Fire, Peep!

message 510: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (last edited Mar 16, 2010 05:22PM) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I'll go start it, lol.

Ok, it's over there in the Series section.

Amanda Orlich Ahern (kittymeowxcore) | 56 comments Emily wrote: "Oooh! I loved Hush, Hush. And I want to read Iron King. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it."

Emily, I REALLY love the Iron King. It's a really good book! I'm pretty impressed.

message 512: by Lana (new)

Lana (lanajeany) | 17 comments I just finished Gayle Forman's "If I Stay." Very easy read and a touching story. I thought the teen romance was swoon-worthy. =)

Lana wrote: "I just finished Gayle Forman's "If I Stay." Very easy read and a touching story. I thought the teen romance was swoon-worthy. =)"

I have that on my TBR list. I just voted for that to be the May book of the month in another group that I'm in. :)

message 514: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Lana - I plan to listen to the audio book of If I Stay; however, wishy washy Peep can't decided whether I will like it or not. I'll let you know!

message 515: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Hey! Anyway, I've decided that I'll stick to my original review. I liked it. You hear that? I made a decision!

Amanda - I just finished Iron King - this new world of Fey from Julie Kagawa is going to be HUGE! just posted my review! The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa

message 517: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Orlich Ahern (kittymeowxcore) | 56 comments Yay! I'm glad you liked it. Yea, I also feel like the world she created has GREAT potential. I can't wait for the next two books.

My review is up too, at www.booknookreview.blogspot.com as well as Goodreads.

message 518: by Susan (new)

Susan I'm reading Wintergirls.

message 519: by Jo (new)

Jo | 16 comments Sorry if this has been discussed before, but there are 12 pages on this thread and I don't have time to go through all of the posts. :)

Does anyone recommend the Vampire Academy series?

message 520: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I don't, but everybody else will! I think I'm the only one on Goodreads who didn't.

message 521: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Peep - unlike almost everyone in this group, I dislike vampire books, so don't feel alone :)

message 522: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Joanna wrote: "Sorry if this has been discussed before, but there are 12 pages on this thread and I don't have time to go through all of the posts. :)

I really like vamp books and was wary of these because Vampire Academy sounded kind of cheesy but I really enjoyed them. Rose was one of those characters i kind of latched onto right away.

message 523: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments So I am not reading it yet but I am so excited about The Carrie Diaries coming out next month. I just put my preorder in and I am still thinking about it. I have read all Candace Bushnells books and I can not imagine her writting YA. And Carrie is just one of those characters it is hard to imagine as a teenager.

message 524: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (closer2coma86) | 83 comments I'm reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore and I have to admit, I'm not really enjoying it. I'm about 50 pages in and I'm just confused. I plan to stick with it though because EVERYONE recommends it.

Love your blog - am following now...you just saved me the time of going back to the Holly Black books ;-p

I just got book one of her new series
White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black hopefully this will go better!

I am writing a review on the new Lois Lowry and Inside Out by Maria V. Snyder and finishing Before I Fall.

message 526: by Amy (new)

Amy (aaammmyyy) | 29 comments I'm reading The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley.

Victoria wrote: "I'm reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore and I have to admit, I'm not really enjoying it. I'm about 50 pages in and I'm just confused. I plan to stick with it though because EVERYONE recommends it."

Victoria: I didn't like GRACELING too much either but I highly recommend Cashore's second book Fire. I enjoyed it a far deal more than Graceling :)

Bluemoon wrote: "I'm reading The Hunger Games right now and it's really good. ehehehe...^_^"

I envy your reading experience! Wish I could erase all the memories of The Hunger Games from my mind and reread it :D

message 527: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Emily - The Book Thief is totally YA and EXCELLENT as well! Emily and Victoria - I am about 1/3 into Graceling, so I'll let you know if I dislike it when I'm done. So far I am still interested.

Jo | 16 comments Amy wrote: "I'm reading The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley.

I love the Blue Sword!! It's one of my all-time favorites!

message 529: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I feel like such a geek. I went to my library's annual book sale today and found the audiobook for Anne of Green Gables as read by the great actress Megan Follows for 50 cents and it made my day. NO hesitation I bought that puppy right then and there. Isn't it sad how happy that made me? p.s. Megan Follows will forever by my Anne - I own both movies she started in as Anne and have watched them WAY too many times (FYI - I don't count the 3rd movie - it went way too far away from the books).

message 530: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (last edited Mar 20, 2010 07:24PM) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Bluemoon did you ever pick a side? I'll need to know so I can decide whether or not I still like you.

message 531: by Amy (new)

Amy (aaammmyyy) | 29 comments Peep wrote: "Bluemoon did you ever pick a side? I'll need to know so I can decide whether or not I still like you."

Team Gale right here!! Even though I'm not Bluemoon just felt like I needed to tell :D

message 532: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Geez Peep... please go to the correct thread to try to sway your silly Gale followers. Team Peeta always posts on the appropriate threads. p.s. since Peep already started it - Blue Moon you will totally love Peeta after book 2, but unlike Peep, I will still like you if you are Team Gale (gag).

message 533: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Orlich Ahern (kittymeowxcore) | 56 comments I'm re-reading Wicked Lovely. I really liked it the first time I read it (swoon @ Seth), and I wanted to write a review on it. So I'm re-reading that one and Fragile Eternity. Ink Exchange wasn't my fave, so I'm skipping it.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Bluemoon - way to hold out. I think I was the same way after the 1st book.

message 535: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Orlich Ahern (kittymeowxcore) | 56 comments Brittany wrote: "Bluemoon - way to hold out. I think I was the same way after the 1st book."

Yup! I'm probably going to read it after Radiant Shadows. You should read the Wicked Lovely series. It's really good!

message 536: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm currently reading Deadly Little Secret. Just started last night so no real opinion yet.

message 537: by Traci (new)

Traci ugh. so I've been reading the Time Traveler's Wife for almost a week and I'm still only half way done. I'm not into this one at all.. it's so BORING. I haven't gotten to any type of conflict.. he's even stopped disappearing for a while now. I really hope it shapes up because I don't like abandoning books once I've started them... but at this point I really don't see what the hype is all about.

message 538: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Traci - I already said I did not like TTW. It jumped all over and I never really identified with either of the main characters -- I also did not like the ending.

message 539: by S.S. (new)

S.S. (ssrice) | 75 comments Has anyone read "The Beast of Noor", "Dragons of Noor" or "Dragon's Keep"? Never read, but sound good.

I read Janet Lee Carey's interview with Cathy at Sanriotown. She's giving away a signed book.
Posted link to it on my blog--

I did not like it. It was quickly going to become a DNF but I bought it and so I was determined to finish. I've heard a lot of others who liked it but not for me.

message 541: by [deleted user] (new)

I liked the few chapters that I read last night. I like that some chapters are her voice and some are his. It seems very Twilight to me so I'm sure I'll love it. ;)

message 542: by Amy (new)

Amy (aaammmyyy) | 29 comments I'm almost done with The Blue Sword, but once I'm done I'm not sure if I should read Incarceron or Sabriel next. What do you guys think? =)

Incarceron (Incarceron, #1) by Catherine Fisher or Sabriel (The Abhorsen Trilogy, #1) by Garth Nix

message 543: by Amy (new)

Amy (aaammmyyy) | 29 comments I've read Mister Monday and it's pretty good. But it's a middle grade book so some things might seem rather...incredible. Or unbelievable, haha. And I read it when I was in elementary school so my recommendation might be a little skewed, since I read it a while ago =)

message 544: by Iwan (new)

Iwan Sutisna (iwansutisna) | 1 comments The Tunnels, is quite fun and interesting to read.

message 545: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Jo let us know what you think of Unwind. I read it and ended up liking it, even though I was pretty sure I wouldn't like it. Pretty crazy book I'd say.

I haven't read Sabriel but Incarceron is amazing!

MZ

message 547: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Jo & Peep- I am listening to Unwind on audio and will be done with it in a few days (it is 9 CD's, so has taken me some time). I am on the 7th CD and really liking it so far.
Amy- I have Sabriel in my tbr pile, so give me an update if you liked it please :)

message 548: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Ugh! I have to stop reading this thread! Now I added Incarceron to my tbr pile. I have no self control!

Sorry, Heidi! If it makes you feel any better, it's probably on my Top 20 YA Books of All Time!
:D

MZ

message 550: by Heidi (new)

Heidi That's ok Michelle - Incarceron look's really good and if it is one of your top YA books ever, I HAVE to read it now :)
Emily 218!!!!! Wow that is a crap load of books. I am a task person and like to see an end in sight. I would go insane with that many. I would have to take two weeks off work and read day and night so I would get the list down. p.s. everyone needs to ONLY recommend books that are NOT part of a series. I am one of those people that likes to finish a series back to back, and if they are not part of a series that would help my mental health a lot :) Thanks!
