Ugh is exactly how I feel when I think about it. Don't ask me why.

message 852: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Goodness lady just read it! You're going to feel awful that you waited so long to love it as much as we do. What's happening so far? I'll let you know how close you are to crying.

message 853: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I'm actually listening to it (while I do housework, ugh) and I think I'm on disk 4. She just stole the second book if that gives you a good reference. It just seems to be a really slow story.

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Becca wrote: ".... She just stole the second book if that gives you a good reference. It just seems to be a really slow story."

*snicker* Not really. What is the book about? Have they starting talking about any new "characters" yet?

message 855: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Peep means has Max showed up yet? Oh Max - what a guy.

message 856: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Sheesh I'm trying not expose any potential spoilers. Way to go Heidi. By the way, did you ever check out what I said was in the book?

message 857: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Yes I did Peep - the pictures were very cool. p.s. I didn't say WHO Max was - just asked if he showed up yet! We need to team up and get Shannen on this book!

message 858: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I still preferred my air of suspense.

message 859: by Heidi (new)

Heidi yea yea yea

message 860: by [deleted user] (new)

Team up all you want but I'm still not convinced. I will read it eventually!

I just finished Graceling. I loved it but wasn't satisfied with the ending. Am I the only one who felt that way?

Just started Wicked Lovely.

message 861: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I liked the ending of Graceling - what didn't you like?

message 862: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't want to post spoilers. It just didn't end how I wanted it to end. It's all about me, you know? LOL!

message 863: by [deleted user] (new)

Check your inbox, Heidi!

message 864: by [deleted user] (new)

Emily - Graceling is definitely a 5 star book. Don't let my comment about the ending keep you from reading it.

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Shannen wrote: "I don't want to post spoilers. It just didn't end how I wanted it to end. It's all about me, you know? LOL!"!!!

I tried to warn you!

message 866: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Emily - Fire is a companion book not a sequel so you don't have to read them in order.

message 867: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (last edited Apr 07, 2010 09:21AM) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Emily you don't have to read Graceling first. Fire is sort of the companion to Graceling. You won't be hindered or confused if you read either one first. But you may be confused by that last sentence. Sheesh. I can't speak right.

Fire was good. Cansrel (name?) was hardcore.

I finished Fire yesterday but did not like it nearly as much as I did Graceling :-(
Poison Study was good, but I would not read it right after Graceling. I haven't read any of the others you mentioned...

message 869: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments While I work through the Book Thief, I'm also reading Dragon Outcast which is a must series for anyone who loves dragons like I do. Such a good series!

Damn it, now i got another book in my TBR list..!

message 871: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments The first one in the series is Dragon Champion which I think has been my favorite so far, but they've all been excellent. Have fun with it!

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Keep plugging along Becca, I felt exactly the same way and I just finished the book last week. I promise it gets better. Wait til you meet Max. That's about when I got sucked in again.

message 873: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Don't worry Bluemoon, you're in good company. I don't do scary or I'll have an anxiety attack.

message 874: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I hated Forest of Hands and Teeth but it was my first zombie read and it gave me the creeps thinking about them.

message 875: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) I think we should all just give in and let our to be read piles be insane. It isn't hurting anyone :P

message 876: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Yeah Emily - glad you stuck with The Book Thief! And, 500 in your tbr pile!!!

message 877: by Adleb (new)

Adleb | 1 comments I'm reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.. I have just started reading it.... I recently finished The Host by Stephenie Meyer which I highly recommend :P

message 878: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I liked The Host a hundred times better than the series that shall not me named. I think her writing improved significantly. I've never been into aliens, but it was a very interesting story.

message 879: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments I dug The Host but I have heard she is planning to write a sequel some time down the road and I don't really get it. The way it ended was good - not everything needs to be a series, jeesh. Come up with a new concept and a new book with new characters, please!

message 880: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Right now I am rereading the first few Queen Betsy books (not YA) and I remember her being funny but man I forgot just how funny she is.

message 881: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I tried to listen to the Host on audio, but couldn't get into it.

message 882: by Laura Beth (new)

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments Heidi wrote: "I tried to listen to the Host on audio, but couldn't get into it."

I loved The Host! Try reading the actual book.

message 883: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments The reader can make all the difference in the world. I've never listened to the audio, I read it in print, and it was a decent read. It isn't one I would say you have to read this right now to, but it was good.

message 884: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Th narrator of the Host sounded obviously older to me, so it was hard to think of her as young as the main character (the human), and it threw me off. They should have got the narrator that does Skeeter from The Help and the girl from Shiver -- she can sound really young.

message 885: by Traci (new)

Traci I just finished Water For Elephants (not YA) but it was sooo good. I really loved it. I agree that not all books need to be series.. but when I read a really good book that isn't part of a series it makes me so sad because I get very attached to the characters! I just want to see moooore! hahah

anyway. I think I'm going to start Paper Towns by John Green next. anyone else read it? I read Looking for Alaska and thought it was just okay. Is this one decent?

message 886: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Emily wrote: "Kellee, I agree. :) Mine's at around 500 at the moment (counting some of the titles I haven't added on here yet)!

I liked Paper Towns but I LOVED Looking for Alaska.

Have you read An Abundance of Katherines?

message 889: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Yup - I liked it better than Paper Towns but not as much as Alaska. I just really love John Green, in fact I am going to buy his new one today.

Traci Bluemoon wrote: "now reading Incarceron. So far I'm not really liking it :("

oh no! I heard that one was supposed to be really good :[ I hope it picks up! but I'm interested to hear how you feel about it in the end

message 891: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Reading The Thiefnow when I can't stand listening to an audio book for a few minutes. Can't wait to get caught up to all you all.

message 892: by Roshini (new)

Roshini Reading Everlost by Neal Shusterman.

message 893: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Roshini wrote: "Reading Everlost by Neal Shusterman."

I really liked that one! I thought the ending was fantastic and the whole storyline was interesting.

It's going great so far but I'm so annoyed that I don't have enough time to read!

Me too Traci!

message 896: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments I am supposed to be reading the new John Green and David Levithan book Will Grayson, Will Grayson but my Borders decided not to put it out on the shelves yet. I think they did it on purpose so that I couldn't use my coupon that expired yesterday but then I got another one today so I don't know. None of my usual crack dealers were working so I couldn't make them go find it for me. :(

I agree. It sucks you in from the first page!
Have you read Elsewhere by Zevin? It has a similar premise, but completely different plot. Interesting to read the two near each other.

message 898: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I haven't, but if it's similar to Everlost, I'm sure I'll like it. Is this the one? Elsewhere

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments I gave up waiting for Incarceron from the library (I've got a hold so I'm waiting for it very impatiently) and went to during lunch and got Gone. It looks like a beast of a book, but hopefully it will be good.

message 900: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Brittany - Gone by Michael Grant is good :)
