Heidi I forgot about the kiss! He kept asking her for kisses - it was so sweet.

I'm liking it a lot, even when it's a way disturbing reading subject!! I just have about 100 pages left and I'm not sure what would happen! Which is good, because I had read a lot of predictable books lately!!!

Dialma | 14 comments Peep wrote: "Fine Dailma! You make it hard to dislike you, you know. I liked Unwind, too."

I knew that eventually you would be able to look past our differences, and find out we can be friends after all!!! :)

I know... Rudy may be one of the only blondes I have a teenage girl crush on.

Is it wrong that I catch myself saying Saumensch and Saukyrl sometimes??

Loving someone is never wrong - blond hair or not - it can always be dyed right?? (Just like Peeta). I always call my husband a saumench (even though it is the effeminate).

LOL... you crack me up. Does your husband know you're calling him a girl (among other things)?

I also love how we are fighting on the Lurkers thread while simulateously talking up The Book Thief on this one.

Becca | 1608 comments This group is great at getting off topic, but thank goodness for that, otherwise it might get boring.

message 958: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Brittany - he has NO idea I am calling him a female pig (or whatever it means). I have tried to get him to read the book (I bought it), but he refuses, so that is what he gets! He is forever a saumench!! p.s. Off topic, what is that?

message 959: by [deleted user] (new)

Speaking of dying hair and to get more off topic, I am totally picturing Rob with red hair while reading Water for Elephants. *sigh*

message 960: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments rofl, Shannen, I thought you were married. This sounds serious. I think we need to call in a counselor.

Water for Elephant shall now go on the list.

message 961: by [deleted user] (new)

Water for Elephants has been a 5 star read for me so far. I can already tell that I'll be bawling by the end.

Yes, I'm married and my oldest son is only a few years younger than Rob. Yikes! Thankfully, my hubby is a patient man and has his own sexception list. LOL!

Bluemoon wrote: "hehehehe...

don't all guys have their 'list'?"

Probably but we're equal opportunity...I have MY list too. ;)

message 964: by Susan (last edited Apr 14, 2010 04:35AM) (new)

Susan I'm currently on a YA reading frenzy. I read Need by Carrie Jones on Sunday. On Monday I read The Espressologist by Kristina Springer and now I'm reading Lips Touch: Three Times by Laini Taylor! Ahhh....

Emily Painton (Emily_Painton) | 1 comments The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. I am enjoying it a lot so far. I like the way the author puts in little notes and pomes throughout the book.

Woohoo! They're both so good. Looking forward to finding out what you think.

I just started Fire Study last night.

Heidi Becca wrote: "Yay! Poison Study is waiting for me at the library!!! and Graceling is in transit!"

I also have Poison Study on hold for me at the library! Are you listening to Graceling on audio or reading it?

message 968: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Just ordered Graceling and Catching Fire on Amazon!! They can't get here fast enough! Can't wait can't wait can't wait!!!!

message 969: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Reading it Heidi, the audio books were like 30 holds or so, so I'm down with print. So stoked!

Heidi Becca wrote: "Reading it Heidi, the audio books were like 30 holds or so, so I'm down with print. So stoked!"

Yeah, I had to wait on hold for my version for quite some time. I really liked the audio though because it had different actors doing the parts and music to emphasize things.

Linda (lindajoysingleton) | 41 comments So many great titles! You'll love POISON STUDY, GRACELING, HUNGER GAMES -- all books on my favorite book shelf.

Also check out INCARCERCON -- amazing!

And I just started reading THE NAMED which has me hooked already!

message 972: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Ohhh all good choices Bluemoon :)

message 973: by [deleted user] (new)

Graceling, Graceling, Graceling... :)

message 974: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I have read Graceling and Gone, but still have to read Poison Study. Out of the two I read I would pick Graceling first.

message 975: by Laura Beth (new)

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments Save Graceling for last! Save the best for last! I would say Poison Strudy first, then Gone, then Graceling.
:-) JMHO

message 976: by Laura Beth (new)

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments no - not at all! I loved all three! but I read Graceling first, so did not enjoy Poison Study as much as I think I might have had I read it first. Hence putting Gone in between them. :-)

message 977: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Good point Laura :)

message 978: by [deleted user] (new)

Still reading Water for Elephants but only about 100 pages to go. I'm in love with Jacob. *sigh*

message 979: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Shannen - you only love him because Rob is playing him.

message 980: by [deleted user] (new)

*raspberries* FYI, I even love Jacob as an old man. He has such a good heart.

message 981: by Ann (new)

Ann I just started Water for Elephants today. So far, so good.

Heidi I read about half of that book. Let me know if you like it. It's kind of crazy. I can't remember why didn't finish it. I think I had some books come in.

Bluemoon, it is very different from the Book Thief!

message 985: by Laura Beth (new)

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments Bluemoon wrote: "HEIDI: is there more action in it?"

Which book are you asking about???

message 986: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished Water for Elephants last night. OMG I love this book! Very touching.

Now I've got to figure out what to read next...

message 987: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Shannen I loved the ending of WfE, did you? I know some people said it wasn't realistic but I loved it. Also, you see I'm staying out of that other thread in honor of you and the other group?? Respect! Hahaha.

Bluemoon, they are very different! It reads more like John Green novel but the content is a little more mature. If I remember correctly. Heidi will set the record straight.

message 988: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I just answered this in the other group, but I Am The Messenger is much different than Book Thief - it is light book and filled with humor so far. Read my description on the other group or read the book description for more info. The audio is great because the book is based in his native Australia and the narrator has an accent, so I can really get the sense of the main character.

Loved it too. Not too excited about the movie cast still though.

Sheila Beaumont (sheilabeaumont) | 18 comments I'm reading Diane Duane's A WIZARD OF MARS, the long-awaited ninth book in her Young Wizards series.

message 991: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I'm reading The Warrior Heir which is a book I picked out by the cover when I was at the bookstore. I hope it lives up to my expectations.

message 992: by Traci (last edited Apr 16, 2010 07:46PM) (new)

Traci Becca wrote: "I'm reading The Warrior Heir which is a book I picked out by the cover when I was at the bookstore. I hope it lives up to my expectations."

Becca: I actually really liked The Warrior Heir. I picked it up at Half Price Books not really knowing anything about it and I was pleasantly surprised. :]

I just finished The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks and I have mixed feelings. Some parts drew me in, but for the most part I was annoyed. I'm not really big into feminism (I'm in no way anti-feminist, believe me.. but.. this book was ridiculous). The whole thing was centered around the fact that Frankie had wanted the most popular guy in school to be her boyfriend.. and then he finally was, and he was super nice to her, but she just sat there analyzing everything he said and twisting it to make it seem like he was belittling her--which he totally wasn't. I just wanted to smack her and tell her she was dumb.

Has anyone else read it? Did you feel differently? Maybe it was ME that was over analyzing things.. but I was annoyed. :[

message 993: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Oh I haven't read it but that sounds like something I would be annoyed with!

I bought that for my nephew! Please tell me if I made a good choice :)

message 995: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Traci - I plan to listen to The Disreputable Life on audio. Ugh! I will let you know what I think.

message 996: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (roses7184) I'm currently reading a bunch of books at one time. I have a bad habit of doing that. However I am mostly reading The Sweet Far Thing again because I realized I had forgotten the storyline.
