What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Almost everyone uploads their mind to a virtual reality world, then cremate their bodies. The main character, a teenager or young adult male, is one of the few holdouts who have not uploaded their mind (the other holdouts are mostly Christian fundamentalists. I recall the word "fundies" being used a lot). His parents have uploaded their minds, and he goes to visit them sometimes. He can only stay for a few hours at a time before returning to his body unless he wants to live their permanently. In the virtual reality, nobody dies unless they commit suicide. The main character has an android/robot friend.

I probably read this book between 10 and 15 years ago. I think I bought it in a bookstore, so there's a good chance it was fairly new at the time.

Edit: I think there may have been a sequel or possibly 2, though I may be mashing together the details from more than one book.

ewps. had to look at the back of End of Days, lol. I just reread the first one a few months ago.

Yeah, circuit is first, end of days is second.

But, that's the series. Every detail mentioned is in there, including that there's a sequel.
