Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 296 comments I do enjoy a cozy mystery on occassion, especially if it is on audio. Just started listening to Angels Fall by Nora Roberts . Saw the movie years ago and liked it.

Just finished listening to: Just Like Heaven (Smythe-Smith, #1) by Julia Quinn
This was my first Julia Quinn's book, tha narrator was good but I'm not crazy about the book.
I love to hear your opinion if you read it or listened to it.

message 162: by Shellbelle (new)

Shellbelle I just downloaded Just Like Heaven (Smythe-Smith Quartet #1) by Julia Quinn today! I'm a little worried now that you said you didn't like it Lupdilup:( I have only read/listened to a handful of Julia Quinns books, but she has already became a fav. of mine♥ And the funny thing is in a lot of those books, the hero and heroine have a least one encounter at the Smythe-Smith Musical! I have been eagerly waiting to see one of those poor tone deaf girls get a little HEA of their own!lol What was it that you didn't like?

message 163: by Lupdilup (new)

Lupdilup | 510 comments Mod
Well, I had no back reference on these characters, did they come from other books? and to be honest I was just a little bore with it, but I think is a different story when you love the author, I love everything that Lisa Kleypas has written even if other people had found it just average.
What's your favorite audiobook from Julia Quinn? I'll try a different book, I just don't want to miss out on the reason that makes so many people love her books.
Just let me know your thoughts after you listen to it.

Christine (Cagnes) (cagnes) | 131 comments I've never tried any Julia Quinn audiobooks, but I adore her Bridgerton series, love that family!

I've just started listening to Boneshaker (The Clockwork Century, #1) by Cherie Priest

message 165: by Shellbelle (new)

Shellbelle The Bridgerton books are the ones I have really like on Audio, I haven't listened to all of them, and it's one of the few series I haven't read/listen to in order. I know that I enjoyed It's In His Kiss (Bridgertons, #7) by Julia Quinn the narrarator took some getting used to, but I ended up loving it! I also really enjoyed Ten Things I Love About You (Bevelstoke, #3) by Julia Quinn !

I can't belive that I put down Magic Slays (Kate Daniels, #5) by Ilona Andrews not because it's bad, but because I'm enjoying Ruthless (The House of Rohan, #1) by Anne Stuart , this is soo good! I think the narration is really taking this book to a higher level.

Yes, Roy Dotrice is the narrator & he does a great job bringing the book to life!

I have a hard time understanding some British accents, but have no trouble with this one... unless listening on fast speed.

I'm on the wait list at the library for this one. I'm number 7 in line though so it will be a while. Good thing is though, I prefer to read the book after seeing the movie, or in this case, TV show if I've not read it before. So since this coming weekend is the finale of GOT, it'll be a while after it's over before I get the audio book.

Oh, my library has it; but, I was, like, #128 in line for it!!! I'm reading it in a "buddy read" and loving every second of it. Bought the paperback chunkster A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R.R. Martin today at Barnes & Nobel. Would love to hear the audio, so I'm not cancelling my library download request!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 296 comments Listening to Rising Tides by Nora Roberts - it's good, but I don't think it is a stand alone, due to character development (not plot). One should listen to Sea Swept by Nora Roberts first.

Never listened to anything from Lisa Kleypas. I've haven't read the Travis series yet & I'm thinking of getting the audio versions of those.
