Finished Nungas!

Will be starting Dancing in My Nuddy Pants by Louise Rennison tomorrow.

Making the most of the rest of today to get my chompers into Spectyr (Book of the Order, #2) by Philippa Ballantine YESSSSSSS!!!

message 402: by Jeshu (new)

Jeshu (jeshusauria) I'm currently reading Blood Promise. I'm in chapter 9, but I don't feel very excited. So far, it's very boring.

message 403: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Hmmm, I'm not holding out much hope for VA if I'm honest. The only reason I want to finish the series is so then we can talk about how rubbish it is.

I'm now reading "...Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers" (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson, #6) by Louise Rennison I love this series. XD

Oh yeah, start of BP was God awful. Ending was good, though. Will VA be joining our Twilight rants? :p

message 405: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) I think it will. I still haven't bothered to get Frostbite yet lol.

message 406: by Jeshu (new)

Jeshu (jeshusauria) I think it will too. I don't hate VA, but there are a lot of things that are annoying me. Yesterday I managed to get to chapter 13 and nothing has happened! This book is so full of unnecessary stuff that I'm going to break somebody's neck.

message 407: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
Hehehe, yeah it doesn't get exciting until about 150 pages from the end. I'm not sure why they let her publish her books with so much filler and so little action. If they'd taken out about 200 - 300 pages per book, they could have been very good. As they are, they're mediocre leaning towards bad.

message 408: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) I'm now reading '...Startled by His Furry Shorts!' (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson Book 7) by Louise Rennison I'm having to fly through these. =/

message 409: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
Yeah but they're also really really short. They look long because the font is relatively big and very spaced. I should finish Fell Off In My Hand later today.

message 410: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) I know, but I don't have the attention span to rush a good book! You've really caught up! I'm only two in front now! XD

message 411: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
It's ok, you'll have time to get ahead again because I don't think I'll get much time for reading this weekend! :( Plus I want to finish Spectyr. Only got about 50 pages left but the type is very small so it takes a while to get through the pages compared with how fast I flick through Georgia!

message 412: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) I know, but I need to be reading Numbers (Numbers, #1) by Rachel Ward . Awww, I won't be reading a great deal either. =( Although that's because I'll be watching the F1 =) I hate small print, it makes me weep into a larger print book.

message 413: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
I checked numbers on Bol and that edition (UK I guess) takes 2-3 weeks to ship :/ The other one (one with the eye) is next day delivery but only books 1 and 2 are avilable so far and book 2 is still hardback. So numbers will go on the back burner for me, though I do like the sound of the idea behind it.

F1 watching is better than article writing. :p I'm usually ok with small print, unless there's no spacing between the lines then sometimes I yearn for larger print.

message 414: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Awww... it's a really good series. =( I don't actually like the other cover.

It really is! XD Fair enough. I've always had trouble with small print. It drives me batty!

message 415: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
Yeah I don't like it much either. Pooey. I'll look into it again when I get back from France.

And Mr Arie has standby so he'll be ignoring me all day... which is pretty much what he does anyway. At least it means he won't have standby next weekend so I may be able to wring a day out to Utrecht out of him! I'm ok with it until I get tired and then I have to stop of my eyes go fuzzy for days and that is not fun.

message 416: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Yeah, well the third one's available over here but it's only just come out, so I don't know how long it will take for it to reach where you are.

Awww, poor you. I hate it when I get ignored. I make a huge fuss. Look at the positives lol. You see I can read it I just prefer not to.

message 417: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
Third one is in paperback here in August. I can get them as soon as they're out over there, I just have to wait a day or two extra for delivery times. I'm not sure why the first book is so slow to be delivered, though.

Yeah, I hate it too. It'll get into me bitching at him till he does something with me soon. I feel it when I'm home alone all day and he doesn't even interact with me at dinner - just takes his dinner upstairs without a word... pfft. I feel abused. :( Yeah I prefer not to, but not all books are available in larger print so I reluctantly put up with it!

message 418: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) That's not too bad. I've seen stuff like that, my mum says maybe they just get it in stock once its been ordered.

Haha, well you wouldn't have to if noticed you for a few moments (or more. Preferably more.) I hate it when people do that. I end up looking at them and just asking why they wont eat with me. Poor you. =( I know, this is why I don't read small print often.

message 419: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
It could well be that. But sometimes you order the books with the long delivery times and about 3 weeks later it tells you this book is not available at this time. :(

I know! He fails at understanding women. I even have to fish for "you look good today" compliments when I've spent fourty years making damn well sure I do look good. I know why he isn't: work. Doesn't mean I like having a week of very little communication because of standby, though. He offered to take me out next weekend. :) So that's good! :) Come to think of it, I read it quite a lot... But most of what I like is aimed at adults and produced in mass market paperbacks so they make the print small and not too spaced in order to save money, I guess.

message 420: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Hmmm.... I don't get Amazon when it's like that though. I just hope for the best. =(

I don't think any guy will truly understand women. Really? I've never had those. The compliments I get are: you're cute. I wouldn't date you but you're cute. Haha, I just spend half an hour on myself and hope for the best. =P I know, you have a right to have a little attention if he's not busy. At least he's offered to take you out next weekend. =) That should be nice. =) Haha, that would explain the small print. I tend to check font size before I buy. =)

message 421: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) I am now reading: "Luuurve Is a Many Trousered Thing..." (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson Book 8) by Louise Rennison Fab and marvy XD

message 422: by Rea, Ghost (new)

Rea | 1992 comments Mod
Actually half an hour's really generous for me! I usually spend about 10 mins, unless I'm doing the whole leg shave and nail polish extravaganza then it takes at least a couple of hours. I had one of those days the other day, inspired by Georgia. :) I just buy then deal with whatever I'm served.

Spectyr done! A whole year before book 3! Nooo! :(

Gonna go back to Georgia now but I'm spoilt for choice as to what to team it with. Choice is narrowed down to The Toymaker by Jeremy De Quidt (which looks fantastic! Check that cover! Total judge a book by its cover there) or Murder on Lexington Avenue by Victoria Thompson which is the second to last book to date in the Sarah Brandt series (most recent one is in hardback though and almost triple the price. I'll wait a year for the paperback version tyvm.)

message 423: by Jeshu (new)

Jeshu (jeshusauria) I got The Emperor's Children from the library. It looked interesting; however I just noticed the reviews on goodreads are terrible! I started the book and immediately fell asleep D:

That means I should be starting Numbers (Numbers, #1) by Rachel Ward tomorrow. =)

Why'd the rename the first book from Cirque du Freak? It's a really good series, Jeshu. :) At least, I enjoyed it a lot when I read it as a young teen!

I'm reading 'Stop in the Name of Pants!' (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson Book 9) by Louise Rennison but I've overdosed on Georgia (4 books in 2 days) and I'm finding it a bit hard-going! :(

message 440: by Jeshu (new)

message 443: by Jake (new)

Jake | 1 comments Im currently reading book two in the Song of Ice and Fire series. I really enjoy this series and I normally despise fantasy I didn't even like the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter I've recently begun to lose interest with anything to do with it, but good god this series is so fantastic I love every minute of it! HIGHLY recommended.

My brother's a big fan of Martin. I'm hoping to read the books this summer. I've heard a lot about them, including threats of violence towards people who took the books away from the reader if they don't give them back!

I'm reading A Little Scottish Songbook and trying to figure out how to play all the songs on my guitar. :)

message 445: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) I'm reading this month's group read Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater it's more than slightly cliched and I'm only on page 24. I think I like it at the moment though.

message 448: by Char (new)

Char (CharmaineElaine) Oooh, I've been debting whether or not to buy that one! I think I've got it on my wishlist so I may get it for Christmas or my birthday. =)

Lol Jeshu, I made sure it was at the top of my reading pile so I couldn't avoid it. XD

I'm in the part where Meghan meets Queen Titania! So far the only character I like is Grimaulkin, and I think the heroine is annoying and stupid xD
I feel bad for not liking the book, though. I love fairies, and I was ready to love it :(
