Unfortunately, this one won't work for this task. Flowers for Algernon involves science, but Charlie isn't a scientist.
But if you're looking for somewhere to put this book (and it's a good one), it's written through a series of progress reports (so it's an epistolary novel) so it would fit 15.8.

One of the reviews calls Dr. Pellinore an eccentric scientist, so yes, it will work. Sounds creepy! ;o)

That works. One of my all-time favorite books, too. Hope you enjoy it!

It works.

I was wondering if The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks would work for this, or is it too much of a non-fiction science story in general. I'm sure I can find another place to fit this book if it doesn't fit here. Thanks :)

Sorry, Keri, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is completely nonfiction so it won't work for this task. It is, however, an excellent book so do try to fit it in if you can.

That works.

A medical examiner works as do all of the Temperance Brennan books. So, your choice!

That works. Modern doctors had to learn from someone... ;o).

Neurosurgeons will work, too.

When I'm done, I'll be happy to send it to you. I'm all about sharing the book love :)

Alex Cross is a forensic psychologist. The first book in the series is
Along Came a Spider. His women's murder club books also feature a medical examiner. The first one in that series is 1st to Die.

Thanks for the offer, Lindsey, I appreciate it. But my library has it in its e-book collection so I can download it on my nook as soon as I clear a few other of the library books off of there! ;o)

Cool, I will use one of those.

To Sin With A Scoundrel - the heroine is a student of chemistry and sciences
My Darling Caroline - genius heroine who's a botanist
Nobody's Baby But Mine - genius physicist heroine (I'm sure this one works!)
do archeologists or historians work? If so, Kill For Me (book #9) or Spell of the Highlander might work:-)

Romances work and so do archeologists. Historians won't work though. So most of those you've listed will work. The only one I couldn't say for sure is Kill For Me (book #9). I know Sophie in Die For Me (book #7) is an archeologist (and that's the book I'm up to so far), but I couldn't find a mention of Susannah's job.

My bad, sorry, I meant Die for Me!!! :-D Groovy for me, since I just read it! Thx!

In this book a spaceship crashes on an unknown planet and the people have to find out more about their new environment. The perspective shifts between the characters. If I had to point out a main character I'd probably say that it's the geologist. There is also a botanist, a zoologist, a bacteriologist, several doctors, engineers and others. My impression of the book was that its focus was on science and how people managed if they had to deal without it.

Sounds like it will work just fine.

That works. Sounds interesting! ;o)

The Demon's Parchment

As long as he's a main character, sure, it will work.

Eve Duncan works. She uses a lot of scientific principles in her work. I haven't started it yet, but I've heard it's a really good series.

Sounds like he's a major character. So, yes, that will work.

That works. I don't believe I've ever seen a book about Turner's Syndrome. That one's definitely going on my TBR list!

The main character isn't a paid scientist with a degree or anything, but his entire world revolves around math and using math to study and understand everything in his life.
Sidenote: I've talked to a few friends who have read this and they say there is a LOT of math and it's hard to understand, but I studied engineering in college so I'm up for the challenge! Bring on the vector calculus!
