Lori These people are serious about their coffee, and I think I'm going to get an Aero Press. http://lifehacker.com/#!5778831/dropp...

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments I would try an aero press, but I am pretty devoted to my Toddy cold brew.

I know coffee has been discussed in other threads, I don't know if it has a dedicated thread.

I am dedicated to coffee.

message 4: by Arminius (new)

Arminius I love coffee!

message 5: by Arminius (new)

Arminius The scent, the taste and the antioxidant’s in it make it the perfect drink.

It is also a perfect drink for conversations.

message 6: by Lori (new)

Lori Savoring my rich full bodied aromatic mugga in the morning is the only way to start the day. I allow myself 20 to just sit and let the day arrive.

message 7: by Arminius (new)

Arminius The morning cup of coffee has an exhilaration about it which the cheering influence of the afternoon or evening cup of tea cannot be expected to reproduce. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr., "Over the Teacups," 1891

message 10: by Helena (new)

Helena | 1056 comments I love coffee. Now that I’m getting older, I can’t handle caffeine too late in the day. I’m excited when I get to drink coffee in the evening. That’s a party for me.

We just got a Keurig at work. I love it.

message 11: by Stina (new)

Stina (stinalee) | 749 comments My parents (where I have been living for 1.5 years) have a Keurig... it's one of the things I'm really going to miss when I move into my house!!

message 12: by Helena (new)

Helena | 1056 comments black or with just a teeny bit of cream, when I’m feeling fancy a bit of grappa or sambuca.

Strongish, with nondairy creamer. I pour the creamer in first, so the coffee stirs it, no spoon necessary. I make it with an ordinary countertop coffeemaker. I have a plastic cone for emergencies so I can make it on the stovetop if necessary.

I don't want any weird flavors in there: no hazelnut, pumpkin, raspberry, mocha, whatevs.

Keurigs are fun.

message 14: by Helena (new)

Helena | 1056 comments Not so much into flavours, either. Every now and then I like something a bit fancier, after a nice dinner or something.

I’m waiting for my coffee maker at home to break so I can get a Keurig. It’s taking a long time. I might have to drop it. They are fun. Tiny little cups of fun.

message 15: by Stina (new)

Stina (stinalee) | 749 comments I do the same thing with the creamer!! I don't want to get a spoon dirty if I don't have to (mostly because I am lazy).

Fruit flavors don't go with chocolate OR coffee. It ruins the fruit, chocolate AND coffee to mix them together. Raspberry mocha? Ack.

Did anyone ever buy a Tassimo (another single cup brewing system)? I used to see their ads but no one I know has one.

message 17: by Jammies (new)

Jammies I like cinnamon or pumpkin spice coffee, but definitely no chocolate or fruit. I saw Dunkin Donuts strawberry shortcake flavored coffee in the store last weekend and gagged.

I used to be dead set against decaf... but I’m considering it. I miss having coffee at night. It’s the perfect beverage. I like tea too, but it’s just not the same.

message 21: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Some of you may remember I didn't start drinking coffee until a couple years ago. Now I fucking love it. I don't like a lot of crap in my coffee, though. I like lattes, sometimes, but normally I drink coffee straight. I can do French press or drip, whatever works.

I like Trader Joe's coffee, any of a few varieties, for home. And my work has a coffee shop on site, with the coffee only a dollar if you bring your little coffee mug with you.

You know who makes bad coffee? McDonalds. That's who.

message 22: by Arminius (new)

Arminius I use to not like Decaf but when my wife was pregnant we switched to it. I got used to it. But now I am back at full strength and have been for about 8 years now.

message 23: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Arminius, you can get coffee where you are now, right?

No, tea is not the same. I've been thinking about taking up decaf at night too. Coffee is just that comfort beverage!

I haven't tried McDonalds new "premium" coffee, but their old coffee just tasted like hot water to me. Dunkin Donuts, the same. Hot water. It's so damn THIN. It has no body.

message 35: by Lori (new)
