What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Ok so some book details I recall is that the girl and her guy friend like to run bare foot. The book is from I think teenage girl prospective. Her mom gets pregnant and the girl calls the baby a alien. Her grandpa lives with them and is slowly loosing his memories. The girl is also in an art class and has to draw a apple every day. She was saving her money up for colored pencils or paint or something like that but her guy friend she runs with needs new shoes for track but doesn't have the money so she secretly gives him the money for the shoes.
