Basil Godevenos (basilgodevenos) I have a Sony Reader and I'm about to upgrade to a Kindle 3. It'll be at least a week before I get my Kindle, and I'm ALMOST finished the book I'm currently reading. The Wise Man's Fear is next on the slate, and it's LOOOONG, so I know I'll have my Kindle before I'm through with it. I'll want to start using the shiny new toy right away - so I have some questions about stuff:

1. What are my options for converting a Sony Reader ebook to Kindle's format - and is the result good or is the final look of the converted book hit and miss?

2. If I put the Kindle app on my iPad and buy The Wise Man's Fear and start reading, will I be able to download it without buying it again to my Kindle when it arrives?

thanks!

Brandon | 178 comments For# 2. Yes if you buy it in kindle format you can download it to your kindle later without any additional cost. Amazon allows you to have multiple devices tied to a single account and the same book synched to multiple devices without any additional costs.

Great! That's what I'll do then. I'll suffer through the glowing screen for a few days.

I am still interested in answers to #1, however. I will want to port my ebook library from my Sony reader to my Kindle.

Basil Godevenos (basilgodevenos) Ah. That sucks. eBooks should really be open format. Oh well. Especially when the lifetime of an electronic device doesn't measure up to the lifetime of paper.
