Glad you didn't turn tail and run when you saw "1st Quarter Report". :) No, there's no math involved, you don't have to submit it triplicate to your boss or sharpen your #2 pencils.

I'm just curious, now that we're reaching the end of the 1st quarter, how everyone (who is participating) is doing on their 2011 Goodreads Reading Challenge. :D

My Stats: 58 of 200 (28%) I'm pleased, that's on track for me to be able to reach my goal by the end of the year. If I can maintain at least 50/quarter. :)

Wow, 200 is too big an aim for me.
I'm 19 of 50 (38%). I guess I underestimated myself...

Nah, I read a little over 200 the past two years, so figured I could match it at least. We'll see.

It's all relative. I have no job, so more time to read. You're doing well though, 38%. Congrats! :)

Being an accountant, I'd love it if there were math involved! :-) I love stats too though.

I'm at 71 of 300 (21%) right now. I hope to get in at least 4 more before the end of the month so I can stay on pace.

I underestimated also. I calculated 15 per month for a total of 180. After I set my goal, I looked back and discovered I'd read 226 books last year. I'm already a third of the way towards my goal with 61 of 180 (33%)

34 of 150 (22%) will be done with one more tonight and Hope to have a couple more done before the month is up still.

I'm at 61 of 250 or 24%...so doing OK. Have a couple more almost finished, so doing OK to reach my goal :D

Last year I read 170 books, which I'm positive has a lot to do with joining GR. This year I'm going for 150. Yes, I'm also underestimating myself but I'd rather make a goal I'm pretty sure I can reach then struggle to finish X amount of books at the end of the year.

I'm at 41 of 150 (27%) & I'm currently read 3 books, so it will probably be 44 by the end of March. So that's what? A little under 39 books a quarter? I guess I'm doing pretty good, all things considered.

Daffodil, I am a CPA but I don't do taxes in my job. I am the assistant controller at a private liberal arts college.

I've done 17 out of 60 (28%), although 2 of them were books that I started last year.

I'm envious of those of you that can read so many each year. But, I'd need to spend less time online talking about books and more time reading them. LOL! What fun would that be? I've found a happy medium and I like it.

You guys are amazing. I get in just what I can! With work and the kids and the extras that come along, I just can't seem to find enough time to read :( Hence the 100 by the end of the year lol I think I can do that. I'm 11 of 100 (11%)

Erm I'm not sure, maybe. I feel like next year I can increase it further for sure. I've never counted how many books I read in a year so I didn't want to overestimate myself. This is like my base year. Plus, since being on GR (specifically this group!) I read more books than ever :)

Me, too! And no problems finding "it" either!

Though I'm listening to audiobooks, I'm only counting physical books for the GR challenge. I will finish up my 15th book today. Considering I only manage 20 books total (not counting re-reads/audiobooks) last year (major move, both house and job), I'm doing MUCH better. By this time last year, I'd only read 5 books.

Because of Bingo, I haven't planned ahead for April like I did the first three months of the year. We'll see how it goes.

I went with 450 books this year as I read 480 odd last year, including re-reads.

So far I'm 110 books which is 24% (I'm 2 books short for 25%) so I'm counting that as right on schedule. I haven't added all my re-reads so far this year as some of them were only October/November so that doesn't seem fair. LOL.

BUT you read them this year, too. I think that DOES count...it's not how many "new" books you read, it's how many you read all together.

Well I've added them to my read list but kept them off the GR challenge list. You do realise that re-reads on the GR list come off previous years stats, that's why I've only added some.

Oh...I didn't realize! Hmmm...well, for me, I only started counting last year, and partly through the year at that! That's one thing it might be nice to "fix" on GR.

Ah, thanks, GR! ;) I just noticed on my home page, they've got a little note for me saying, "Great work, you're 16 books (7%) ahead." Always nice to get a little unsolicited praise. LOL!

I saw that I was 7 books/2% ahead...and it took me a bit to figure out WHAT I was ahead of! A bright spot in my day as I seem to not be getting much reading done lately!
