Ellen (karenvirginiaflaxman) | 96 comments I found this book at the library the other day, and am looking forward to reading it. I know the group is finished with it, but am fascinated with this group of sisters and might post periodically in this area about how it's going. Thanks!

Ivan | 561 comments I look forward to your comments. I still have this by my nightstand. I didn't read it straight through, but flipped back and forth. I find this family fascinating.

Jan C (woeisme) | 1526 comments I'm still reading it. As soon as I finish Ulysses I will have time for actual reading.

My library book group had its last meeting last night. I'm still on my last 30 pages. I wasn't the only one who hadn't quite finished.

Thanks, Ivan. I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to start reading this book! There are so many others on my stack that must be read first to keep up with group reads!! Thanks so much.

Ivan | 561 comments I know what you mean, I'm a one book at a time reader with three going and another on the way - how does this happen?

I think I know how it happens for me, Ivan. For one thing, I've joined groups on Goodreads that are all reading such interesting books that I feel that I must join in. And then I go to the library to find those books, and find so many others in the catalog that I think I want to read, and end up leaving the library with more books than I should have checked out. Currently I have three that are overdue! I hope to renew a couple of these that I'm reading now. And then I have a bunch that are sitting on my end table waiting for me to pick them up, which I had no business even taking out of the library until I'd finished the ones I'd already checked out! So there you go... Anybody else run into these troubles? It's just greed, I think. Plain, old greed!! LOL!

Jan C (woeisme) | 1526 comments I was bad enough before I got a Kindle. (I have almost 1400 unread/unfinished books in my apartment) But since I got it, every time I hear about a book that I think might be interesting, I look it up on amazon to find out if it is on the kindle. If it is, then I download the sample. I now have 176 items on my kindle. Many are just samples. But, unfortunately, I can probably count on one hand, possibly with fingers left over, the number of books where I have discarded the sample and not gone on to purchase the book, either physical or on the kindle.

The price isn't always the cheapest on the kindle. More prices are being dictated by the publisher and they do not always revise their price after the paperback comes out. And just to read it on the kindle, I am not eager to pay more than the paperback costs.

But it is getting out of control ... again.
