Aynge (ayngemac) | 1202 comments Twizzlers are so plasticky, I just noticed. I wish I had some Red Vines, even though my dentist wouldn't approve. What say you?

message 2: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I think Red Vines are more of a west coast thing. I like red vines better than twizzlers, but the 'australian red licorice' from Trader Joe's even more. Or the fruit-flavored twists at Amish markets that dye your mouth strange colors.

message 3: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I used to live a couple of miles away from a Twizzler plant in Lancaster, PA. When the wind was right, I could smell them all day and all night. I liked them as a kid -- but have manage to avoid them as an adult. I never heard of Red Vines.

Rebecca White (rebecca_white) | 1027 comments There is very little candy I don't like, but these viney things are it. It's the texture. It's like scraping the gook around the mouth of a jam jar and eating that.

Lila | 146 comments What are red vines?

On the east coast, you can sometimes find them in Target or Walmart, usually in the candy aisle in these big tubs not near the register.

Aynge (ayngemac) | 1202 comments You can get that huge tub for like $5 at Costco. I have to look into the Trader Joe's version.

Stina (stinalee) | 749 comments Red Vines!! Twizzlers taste like plastic to me too!!

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Ugh. Both are gross. Why would I want to chew wax?

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments RandomAnthony wrote: "Ugh. Both are gross. Why would I want to chew wax?"

What he said. I don't like black licorice either. Not chocolate, what's the point?

Twizzlers!!!!!!!!!

message 12: by Lila (new)

Lila | 146 comments I don't think they sell red vines in canada. At least I've never seen them.

Lyzzibug ~Still Breathing~ (lyzzibug) | 708 comments Rainbow Twizzlers.

message 14: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Apr 06, 2011 03:03PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Depends what mood I'm in and how fresh the red vines are. Most of the time I prefer Twizzlers, but every once in a while I'll get a craving for Red Vines, especially the very fresh, extra soft ones.

I also like nibs, which are made by Twizzlers.

Now here's a question : cherry or strawberry Twizzlers? Yes, there are two interchangeable main flavors, depending on where you buy them.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r)

VS.

What's a redvine? The Cherry one reminds me of Nyquil. ick.

message 18: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix (phoenixapb) | 1619 comments Both! And strawberry for the Twizzlers.

Mmm, I love black jelly beans too. They stopped including them in regular bags of jelly beans, fuckers.

Where in Canada are you Lila? I'm collecting Canadians, and I need to enter the data on my spreadsheet.

Mental health check on Barb.

What Stacia said. I'm sure I've had red vines but can't remember the difference between them and Twizzlers.

Cherry Twizzlers. There's something not quite right about the strawberry.

There's also cherry Nibs, are those made by the same company?

Nope. She's serious--has even started a separate thread for Canadians:

Cape Breton Island by!

message 26: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) I like the TWIZZLERS pull and peels. Also, black licorice is the bomb!

message 27: by Helena (new)

Helena | 1056 comments I don’t like Twizzlers so much... I’ve never had ‘Red Vines’.

I like Nibs.

Cape Breton is beautiful. I have family in PEI and used to spend my summers there. Sigh. Every time I go, it gets harder to leave.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

twizzlers forever!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Yes, nibs are made by Twizzlers and they are cherry only as far as I know. Love em.

message 30: by Lila (new)

Lila | 146 comments Yes it is beautiful. The whole east coast is from the scenery to the people.

Eeew....Those taste like play-doh to me.

Lyzzibug ~Still Breathing~ (lyzzibug) | 708 comments You don't like play-doe flavor? ;)

message 33: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments It's not high on my list, I'll admit.

I was in the store eyeballing the Red Vines and Twizzlers today (they had both) but I couldn't get excited about either. I got some Hot Tamales.

I also noticed they were selling Sweet and Sour Filled Twizzlers. Filled with a second flavor. Those didn't sound too good.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) They don't sound good. I'm not a fan of the pull and peel variety either.

message 36: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix (phoenixapb) | 1619 comments I ♥ Hot Tamales! I haven't had them in years though.

Lobstergirl | 24779 comments Mod
I also noticed there was a new flavor of Mike & Ike: Italian Ice. I'm not a Mike & Ike eater so I passed.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

Red Vines. I can eat a whole pack in one sitting. I can't gag down Twizzlers.

Hot Tamales ROCK, Alecia!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I've never had Hot Tamales. I don't like most chewy, fruit flavored candy. Oddly, I don't find the fear of having my fillings pulled out that enjoyable. Gummi bears, no thank you!

I do like Bit O'Honey (delicious!), though, and those are really sticky.

message 40: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix (phoenixapb) | 1619 comments Hot Tamales are cinnamon flavored and yeah, they are pretty sticky if I remember correctly. But I love cinnamon flavored candy, gum, tooth paste, etc. I just don't eat much candy. I did have Starbursts for the first time in forever the other day though, my teeth hurt for hours after that. I think I need to go see the dentist. :(

message 41: by Lila (new)

Lila | 146 comments hot tamales are awesome...and hot lips...and gummie bears....even if they kill my teeth.

message 44: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments I like Hot Tamales and Bit O Honey.

message 45: by Jammies (new)

Jammies My objection to Gummi Bears is the lack of flavor. Cinnamon bears, on the other hand, are awesome!

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Me too, Jim.

Sallers, who's "the crone"?

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

Ah, got it. The avatar. Makes sense.

message 48: by Aynge (new)

Aynge (ayngemac) | 1202 comments I loved Hot Tamales, but I gave them up for the sake of my teeth.
