Selena It's so much fun and so therapeutic.
I'm reading The Kingmaker's Daughter and trying to remember if I've read The Lady of the Rivers.

message 303: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (ezepeze11) | 72 comments I am almost done with The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas and afterwards I am going to start an Agatha Christie :) I love reading classics because I feel like I'm walking in Rory's shoes a little bit. Even though TECHNICALLY she is just walking in every single pair of shoes of the characters she meets.

Reminding me, by the way, I YouTube'd her graduation speech yesterday, and I cried. Again.

message 304: by Danna (new)

Danna I have finished The Art of War by Sun Tzu yesterday. The next book I'll read of Rory's list is probably WAR AND PEACE.

Did you like THE BOOK THIEF?"

I have almost finished it and I absolutely loved it. It is one the best books that I have ever read!

message 310: by Danna (new)

Danna I liked the writing, it was great. But the story, in my opinion, was very poor.

message 311: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading the Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. I expected something great, and it's definitely lived up to my expectations. :)

Beril Akıncı | 1 comments Andreea wrote: "I have finished On the Road by Jack Kerouac and I have started The Book Thief by Markus Zusak."

I am also reading The Book Thief right now. I am still quite a the beginning and my expectations are so high about this book that I am afraid to be disappointed.

At the same time I am also reading "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed.

message 313: by Marie-pier (new)

Marie-pier | 51 comments So I'm still in to A song of Ice and Fire, but started 'the sun also rises' by Hemingway (for the bookclub) and have been reading Marlon Brando's biography AND an audiobook of 'Into the wild' for my commute at work.

I like multitasking

message 317: by Bridget (new)

Bridget I'm reading Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
I've never read anything by Jane Austen before, but I really like it!

message 318: by Danna (new)

Danna I am currently reading 3 books, which is very unlike me, but oh well: The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien , Tatiana and Alexander by Paullina Simons and Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn , and I like them all so far!

message 319: by Alison (new)

Alison I just started The House at Tyneford. It's an interesting read thus far. I think I'll read The One and Only Ivan next (a children's book that has gotten great reviews).

message 320: by Andreea Oxi (new)

Andreea Oxi (oxolicious) | 5 comments Yesterday I've started reading Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles and I'm already 62% percent into the book, I'm simply IN LOVE with it! I recommend it to all of the book addicts who like that "bad boy" and "perfect high class girl" combination. :)

message 321: by [deleted user] (new)

I started The Love of a Good Woman by Alice Munro recently, a book of short stories.

message 322: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (ezepeze11) | 72 comments Andre, I've read that series, and it is AWESOME!

message 323: by Alison (new)

Alison Just finished Old School a few days ago. Now, I'm starting The Great Gatsby, and The Problem of Pain (CS Lewis).

message 325: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 12 comments I'm currently reading "The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary" by Simon Winchester. Just finished reading "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich" by Alexandr Solzhenitsyn this morning, and I highly recommend it.

message 326: by Laura (new)

Laura | 8 comments I am re-reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. It is my favorite love story and I try to read it around Valentine's Day every year.

message 327: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jesspeachee) I'm reading The Vicious Deep. I can't remember the authors name though.

message 328: by Ilse (new)

Ilse (theletterbox) I'm reading "Dit zijn de namen" bij Tommy Wieringa
and also "A storm of swords" by George RR Martin

message 329: by Chiara (new)

Chiara Toniolo (chiaratoniolo) I read a bunch of books at once, which is really gonna cause me back problems. Just today I was confronted with choosing between books to read during breaks at school. I took both books, because, in all honesty, how could I know in what mood I'd be in at school? Anyway, right now I'm in the middle of The Great Gatsby for the millionth time. I love this book so much. Fitzgerald enchants me with his melodic prose. I'm also reading "A Cidade e as Serras", a Portuguese classic and True At First Light, by Hemingway.

message 330: by Emily (new)

Emily (etrox318) I almost always hate reading more than one book at a time - much to confusing for me.
Right now I'm reading Snow Falling on Cedars & loving it! Very poetic, even though it's technically prose.

message 331: by Amy (new)

Amy (allbeans) I just started reading the silver linings playbook, which I know is unoriginal as it is a movie at the moment etc etc but I'm really enjoying it so far!

Talking about the un-originality of reading a book that was recently made into a movie, I am reading Anna Karenina XD

That's what I'm reading now! I'm so unoriginal, omg. But I don't want to watch the movies before I've read the books!

message 335: by Marie-pier (new)

Marie-pier | 51 comments Bossypants by Tina Fey in the car and the Bagavad Gita on paper

Marie-pier | 51 comments Poppy wrote: "I'm reading Anna Karenina at the moment but I'm struggling and not sure whether or not to carry on with it :/"

I just finished it couple of weeks ago, I think it's worth finishing even if terribly long, although I have an acute obsessive-compulsive behavior when it comes to books

message 338: by Shimeng (new)

Shimeng Lu | 1 comments Now I'm reading The Help and The Manticore, which are amazing!

I remember reading that when I was younger and really enjoying it! It's a beautiful and sad story.

message 347: by Julia (new)

message 348: by Tonya (new)

Tonya (radio_goddess) | 10 comments I just finished reading "Accidental It Girl" by Libby Street. It's a pretty funny chick-lit book, but it also has an interesting perspective about the obsession we have with celebrity in America.

Ashley | 12 comments I'm about to finish The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. Then I will start on Flowers for Algernon, which I am SO excited about!
