As in hosted on a site If i had the thing I can i can host it on my website (I only use it to host my blog so yeah its got the space) is that what you mean?
I don't know, I don't really know how forums work, I haven't EVER joined any...although this is actually taking off!
I think the benefit of this is its on GR so its integrated in our everyday lives
Yer it's conventient, I basically go from my email to twitter to goodreads and then my blog :P

I like the idea of a forum! I think it makes it a lot more organized - new threads can be more clearly organized and replied to. I don't know... But as an organized type person, I like it :)
I like that idea. I've also taken part in some forums in the past. It's good because there's more flexibility with what you can do (such as forum restrictions and anonymous posting). It doesn't take too long to familiarise yourself with the way a forum works.The one thing I wish could be transferred over would be the "add book/author" feature on Goodreads because that thing sure is handy! (it seems that 'Calibre' has a plugin available to incorporate that though . . . ? I don't have experience with that forum type)
Well if you guys wnat! in all honesty I can look into setting it up on my Web thing so we can a free space.. And I can make it with all the flexibility and what not
The only forum I've ever been in is the Nerdfighter "your pants" one. (I really hope someone here has heard of it, so I'm less embarrassed by its name!)But I really like the idea of moving this to a forum.

and I did a few forums in my teen years lol Its like this but a lot more organised in a sense
Kylie, if you want to put a forum on your site, it's fairly easy - there'll be one in the Fantastico section.
You could have different sections like, currently reading, fave book, book you hated, events, swaps, etc etc. Might have a bit more leeway than here at goodreads too.

I've only been involved in a couple forums in the past but the best ones have been Aussie Only but getting active members can be a hassle.
