Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

I stumbled upon the following book:

and saw that is had no cover or description and thought that I should change that. However, when I tried to find information, the "find at: ....." several of the websites showed 'could not find book'. So, I used the isbn instead to google it (0439856868) and came across that there is in fact an amazon page for it which can be found here:

But neither the "find at: amazon.com" or the "source: amazon.com" lead to this page but is instead: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0439... which pretty much is a 404 page.

As far as I can tell, this is an Amazon bug, not a GR bug. There is something weird about that Amazon record, even when I do the search in Amazon.

This has happeneds to me in the past.
The Amazon page that has the correct cover image does not have an author listed for the book.
Goodreads does not allow import of items with no author or ISBN.

I asked for a tool sometime back to allow librarians to add books like this but it doesn't seem to be a priority.

You could try to somehow add the author at Amazon - or just manually import all of the important book information to Goodreads.

I added a cover and a description, from Amazon and the other goodreads entries.
The Amazon cover for that ISBN is a customer provided one - I'm fairly certain that it's probably not the 'exact' cover as this is a Scholastic edition, and they usually have a tiny little read Scholastic logo on the front.

If you figure out an easy way to 'fix' Amazon, let me know...
