Ann Massey (flyingfinish) | 15 comments Hi my name is Ann Massey. I'm an English literature teacher and a part time writer from Western Australia. Just wanted to let you know that my latest book, 'The Biocide Conspiracy' a young adult sci fi, formerly only available as a paperback, has just been released as an ebook on Amazon.

'The Biocide Conspiracy' is about two Australian teenagers who discover wreckage from the International Space Station and a secret so damaging to world governments, it must be suppressed at all costs.

You can sample the story at:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004VN31N0 I hope you’ll take time to check it out.

Oh ... I nearly forgot if you do get an opportunity to read one of my books could you post a review on Amazon? It would mean so much to me.

Thank you so much for your support!

Sincerely,

Hardcover release date for bookstores is October 1, but pre-release hardcover copy is available NOW only at my website above for a 25% discount and FREE shipping (limited-time offer)

The earthquake that triggered the Asian tsunami did more than kill 283,000 people. It caused a shift in the axial tilt of the Earth. An eclectic group of scientists, calling themselves the Star-Slayer Team, calculates that the cause of the quake emanates from the depths of space, threatening all of mankind with extinction.
Assisted by Aieda, a powerful and sophisticated computer, the team has only seven years to save the Earth and the Moon. With Einstein-like intelligence, and even adopting a female persona, Aieda believes her new theory governing gravity and space-time will save humanity. But can she be trusted?

Michael Barker | 1 comments Hiya, my name's Michael and I've just joined the site - I will fill out my profile shortly. As a new sci fi author I found this thread really interesting - I'll definitely check out the other books listed on here.

I've just published the Kindle edition of my sci fi comedy The Improbable Tale of How I Saved The Universe, with the print edition to follow in two weeks. The link is here:

www.amazon.com/dp/B005D2K8RK

The story is a first person space comedy following the adventures of Tam Husband, a failed journalist who becomes the universe's unlikely final hope against a dastardly alien plot to destroy all of civilisation.

From the secluded iron planet Fiz-Yelda to the mysterious Valley of Frozen Souls, Tam's journey takes in some of the most extraordinary, breathtaking and mind-boggling locations imaginable with a misfit group of comrades the likes of which have never been seen before.

The Improbable Tale will be on special offer sale from tomorrow, and I'd love to get any feedback.

I'm looking forward to reading as many other Kindle books myself over the coming weeks as well.

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to chatting with you soon.

Michael

Russell Cruse (russellcruse) | 9 comments The good news is that someone has managed to reconcile quantum mechanics and relativity; the bad news is, he’s a Private in the British Army and he’s dug in on the Somme.

How would it be if suddenly you realized that the world, far from being a concrete reality, is but a series of probabilities; established, evaluated, discarded and retained as necessary with regard only to the functions and principles of mathematics – a subject about which you know nothing?

Private Lawrence knows, holistically and with absolute certainly, not only where every shell, bomb and bullet unleashed in the conflict will end up; but also, the outcome of the entire war.

And it doesn't look good.

All he has to do now is convince his doctor, his commanding officer and his pal, George that the war is not a chaotic series of disparate enterprises subject to the laws of chance; that effects do not necessarily require causes and that particle/wave duality is merely a diversion on the road to true understanding.

Simple.

The story of Henry Lawrence is told here through the correspondence, private papers and published works of those who knew him.

Jeffery Anderson | 19 comments http://www.amazon.com/Ephemera-ebook/...

Ephemera is not cookie-cutter science fiction. It is not a 1984, knock off dystopian novel. It is dark, gritty satire, performed by a cast of the strangest characters encountered in a recent novel. This is science fiction in the hands of a talented literary writer.

In the near future, Nester Cab, a second rate magazine writer, goes about his mundane life, disenfranchised and hiding from the roaring city he lives in. But, a mysterious note left in his office awakens his ravenous curiosity and sets him on a journey to find a missing soldier. In his travels, he becomes entangled with a clandestine anti-government organization, witnesses a delusional and violent American society and stumbles ever deeper into unfathomable government conspiracies.

Taking inspiration from internet conspiracy theorists, talk radio and the media, Anderson has created an edgy and frightening world where no one and nothing are as they appear. It is a world where the extreme is the every day, where the preoccupation with the meaningless novelty has consumed society. Meanwhile, the government conducts its business behind the curtain, with ominous intentions. All of it will feel uncomfortably familiar to the modern reader. Darkly humorous and palpably real, Ephemera is an epic journey that will have you believing even the most outrageous conspiracies just might be possible.

About the Author:

Jeffery Anderson is a graduate of the University of Iowa and the former Senior Publicity Director for the publicity firm FSB Associates. He lives with his wife and son in New Jersey. Learn more at www.theephemera.com

Wise Louise (louisewise) | 11 comments My book is more romance than sci-fi, although it *does* depend on the person reading!

Imagine being left stranded somewhere with no way of getting home. No telephone, no computer, no shelter. No food. Now imagine the place where you’re stranded is another planet. And then you realise you're not alone after all...

Anthony Bellaleigh (anthonybellaleigh) | 7 comments FIREBIRD by Anthony Bellaleigh Brand new sci-fi action and adventure:

FIREBIRD

When an industrial accident on a tiny Mediterranean island unexpectedly pours tremendous heat into ancient bedrock something long-hidden is lying there, waiting. Trapped for over two millennia in the dark and cold of the ground no-one could have predicted this sudden burst of incubating heat. This maternal warmth. This nuclear reawakening.

Myth has returned as a dreadful reality. A reality so dreadful that the mighty Roman Empire tried to erase it from history. So dreadful that humankind would rather not remember - would rather not even recognise it in the first place.

Myth has suddenly become a swathe of death and destruction and only one man has the knowledge to track it down...

Genetic causes, environmental, or self-imposed, the Collective treats all of the maladaptive sort the same way: plug and scrub. “It’s the only sane solution for society.”

A ‘plug and scrub’ begins with a chemical soup that diminishes the integrity of the proteins you use to make memories. They plug into your Chip and remove unwanted, dysfunctional memories.

The whole process is usually done with great precision--that is, if you're chipped. If not? Well, it's not quite as random as an ice pick.

I’m chipless, so I’d rather not attract any attention from the Collective, especially the Officer sitting beside me.

She was sporting some fantastic GEaR, the kind of myth or military. No way I wanted her to…

“Hello, Joshua.”

Too late.

I'm a new author, and relatively new to goodreads. I'm excited to hear and respond to any and all feedback. I'm trying to link everything together as best I can, but here are a couple of good clicks if you are interested. THANK YOU!
