Kathy Jenkins | 2 comments Hi Joe, I just finished reading Origin and in the afterward, you asked for feedback, so here it is!

I loved your book! In the beginning I was drawn into all the theorizing over what Bub actually was, the hopefulness and the helplessness of it all, trying to decide which avenue I would take in that situation. The characters you created were incredibly human, despite their extreme intelligence. You made them vulnerable and easily manipulable. I could relate to most of them(Dr. Harker, not so much).

I've never been a big fan of overwhelming odds, but the fact that Bub seemed like a benign being through most of the book made his eventual uprising easier for me and I'd gotten to know and like the characters well enough to be rooting for them.

The ending? Suffice to say, I loved the ending! With two simple words (or one simple expression), you had me laughing nervously. Great job and thank you! I have become a big fan. You lost me a little on one of your short story books where the attempt at humor was a bit over the top, but Origin brought me right back into the fold! I don't know what those publishers were thinking! Didn't they ever read Stephen King? This is a genre people love.

Steven (tbones) | 6 comments I am in the middle of this book and think it's friggin so cool so far. Has there been any talk of a film adaption of this story? I'd really like to read more stuff like this and Draculas. Both stories are highly recommended by me to family and friends. I think there could definitely be a great show if Konrath and Crouch got together like Kevin Smith and those crazy comic shop guys on Comic Book Men :o)
