Wow!

There's a female Kennedy in the last couple of Sookie Stackhouse books.
The main character of the Fever books by Karen Marie Moning is Mackayla.

by the way when you think of me, think your grandmother, I am sure I am close to her age...lol

This Makayla thing really bugs me! Because personally I think that both Makayla and Mackayla would be pronounced the same in Australia. ...I'm going to do some more 'google' research... If anyone else uncovers a good reason to pronounce the names the same, please let me know.

(view spoiler)
Can we use Eva as a name even though it's only implied that's Evie's name?

Jane you said Mackayla for Makayla was ok on page 4 post 179.

Both are listed as variations of Micheala with an "ah" sound instead of an "ii" sound.

LOL! OK - I'm just getting confused with my own rulings!!! :)
I'm totally fine with Michaela and Mackayla. I was worried about Makayla and Michaela - because there seemed to be a differentiation how to pronounce Makayla.
Stuff it! *bl**dy pronounce names* *grumble* - they are ALL fine!! Michaela, Makayla and Mackayla!!! They are all interchangeable. :)
***edit***
Mary - I need to thank you for your persistence in getting this sorted out! My brain was starting to spin and shut down whenever it neared the subject of Makayla! Thanks!
And thank you for all the information that you post on this site for everyone. I'm very appreciative :)

(although I plan to read the last 2 Fever books by Karen Marie Moning soon anyway)
All 3 of those names kept popping up as being "rare" in America. I always thought they were common and have encountered quite a lot of one or another version over the years.

[spoilers remove..."
Sorry DG - I went back and read the passage. I can see where you are coming from but I don't think the 'tie' is specific enough... It is too general - Evie might still be an 'Eve', but that varied name 'Eva' would still be a compliment to her.

No worries...that's why I asked!

...I need to update my list... :)

Jonathan
Elijah
James
Lily
Eleanor - called "Elle" by her sister - pronounced "Ellie"
Josiah

These are all from the cast of characters and most of them are recurring:
Andrew, Anthony, Ava, Cooper, Elias (Eli), Henry, Kaleb, Lucas, Lucy, Maria, Max, Nathan, Riley, Sophia, Xavier.
Of course, this is the 10th book in the series and I don't recommend you start there (this is a series that really builds up.) But a lot of those characters are recurrent.

I think I'm going to do this too; I got the same message (thought I did it Mary's way).

But the real surprise for me is: Aislinn. Which pronounce names has as pronounced like Ashlynn and Aisling. Aisling was aproved for Ashlynn around page 5 of this thread.
Here's what pronouncenames has for Aislinn:
In Ireland it pronounced as ASH-lin, not ASH-leen. lin rhymes with sin, and is NOT a homophone.

I ran out of room for the participants list at the front for linking due to character space issues.
If you like LisaKay and Hina, just post another two threads, but please don't delete your old message as my numbering of message posts will REALLY be out. (I think it is already out of sync - yes, I have housekeeping issues to sort out :)
