Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments I haven't seen Girl Next Door (the book disturbed me enough...LOL) but I have seen The Lost. I actually got to see it at the Toronto Festival of Fear in 2006, I think. Jack Ketchum was there and in the audience. After the movie, he spoke about it. It was really awesome. Ketchum is a great guy in real life too!

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments wow, that's great, Jason
I love finding out that the authors I admire are not just great writers, but are also great human humans
Girl Next Door is a VERY disturbing film, it captures well the feeling you get while reading the book and the acting is surprisingly good, considering that I didn't know any of the actors well

Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments Here's a picture with me and Jack. I had long hair back then...LOL

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments awesome, Jason
you gotta make that picture larger

message 55: by Jason (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments I actually don't have the picture anymore. I had it saved on my old MySpace profile page and had to snag it from there in order to keep it. I guess I could make it bigger myself, but it'd probably ruin it more...

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments When I got my picture taken with Neil Gaiman, I saved the print(this was before digital cameras were popular) and framed it. Despite how ridiculous I looked a decade ago, the picture is one of my most treasured posessions and it is proudly displayed :)

message 57: by Jason (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments That's cool, Bandit! I never met Gaiman, but I did get to see him speak. I was in the front row. :)

message 58: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments When did you see Gaiman, Jason?

message 59: by Jason (last edited Apr 28, 2011 02:08PM) (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments In 2010, in Brighton England. Gaiman made a surprise guest appearance at the World Horror Convention. He also did some signings. Unfortunately, my wife and me missed that last part. I so wanted to meet him. :(

message 60: by Bandit (last edited Apr 28, 2011 02:20PM) (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments oh, I'm sure you'll meet him again, especially if you go to conventions. I've never been to a convention yet, but I really would like to. The one that's going on in Texas this weekend sounds amazing

message 61: by Jason (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments That would be the World Horror Convention for this year. I wish I was there. :( Joe Hill is gonna be there. :(
:(

*turns away to hide his tears*

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments well, in a perfect world, I'd be there too celebrating my birthday tomorrow, that would be an awesome way to spend a birthday...don't cry, Jason, there will be others

Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments LOL

Happy birthday, Bandit!

message 64: by Amanda (new)

Amanda M. Lyons (amandamlyons) Joe Hill and Brian Keene and Jack Ketchum and well pretty much all the good horror writers alive are there and posting pics on their twitters to make us go "Hey!".

message 71: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments What style was your hair in? Mullet? Poodle perm? Shag?

message 72: by Jason (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments LOL My Grandmother had a poodle perm.

message 73: by Amanda (new)

Amanda M. Lyons (amandamlyons) Haha as a kid i was mad my hair wouldn't hold a perm, now I feel blessed for my wavy hair which never cursed me with bad 80s perms!

Gatorman | 8320 comments Bandit wrote: "well, in a perfect world, I'd be there too celebrating my birthday tomorrow, that would be an awesome way to spend a birthday...don't cry, Jason, there will be others"

Happy belated Birthday, Bandit!

message 75: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments Thanks, Gator :)

Mullet? Perm? seriously? haha, no way...it was like short and spiky(honestly at the time spiky was popular)
it wasn't THAT bad, but it was nowhere near how lovely and put together and fancy my hair is now, so it's off limits :)

message 76: by Jason (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments I didn't know that zombies do hair styles!

message 77: by Scott (new)

Scott I didn't know they had hair!

message 78: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments sure, we're like humans, some of us care about our appearances and do hair and dress nicely and exercise and some just let go, turn to slobs, rot and live from brain to brain

message 79: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman | 8320 comments Shall we assume you are like the former?

message 80: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments absolutely, I even occasionally post pictures to prove it :)

message 81: by Jason (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments Ah...there she goes, teasing us again. LOL

message 82: by Scott (new)

Scott Typical zombie.

message 83: by Bandit (last edited May 03, 2011 06:22AM) (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments hey now
:)
I have too posted pics before, ask Tressa

message 84: by Amanda (new)

Amanda M. Lyons (amandamlyons) Yep I saw one of them :) She did indeed have hair.

message 86: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Bandit wrote: "hey now

Yes, she did, and quickly took them down. In one she looked like one of those spelunkers in The Descent. Very cool. Bandit's a living doll.

message 87: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments For limited time only there is now more photographic evidence of me :)

message 88: by Greg (new)

Greg | 1680 comments Amanda wrote: "Yep I saw one of them :) She did indeed have hair."

Yes, but was it hers? Maybe what she wears as hair once belonged to another corpse.... :P

message 89: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments oh, really Greg? really? lol
it's all mine, I dare you to give it a tug if you don't believe me...nothing makes a vegetarian zombie change her mind about her diet like a hair tugging :)

message 90: by Jason (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments Very true, Dorothy!

But if Pinhead appeared in my room with his gang and he said that to me, I know that my even my shit would feel ice cold as it flowed down my legs. LOL

message 91: by Jason (new)

Jason (darkfiction) | 3233 comments No problem Dorothy. But I gotta wonder who would mess with you when you got Pinhead on your side?

message 92: by Greg (new)

Greg | 1680 comments Bandit wrote: "oh, really Greg? really? lol

Oops! Forgot to reply to this previously! :$ OK so I stand corrected - your hair's all yours! :) But... if I gave it a tug, as you suggest, wouldn't it all come out in my hand, possibly with scalp still attached to it? :P

message 93: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Psst. Don't mention Bandit's rotting skin. It's the elephant in the room that we all must delicately squeeze around.

message 94: by Greg (new)

Greg | 1680 comments Tressa wrote: "Psst. Don't mention Bandit's rotting skin. It's the elephant in the room that we all must delicately squeeze around."

Oops! Erm... OK. What do we say instead then? Do we, um, complement her on her bones, weight loss and such like?

message 95: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Just say something like, "Oh, Bandit, what a lovely shade of green you are today." But don't let her see you holding your nose and for God's sake, whatever you do, don't make any vomiting noises.

message 96: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments hey now...how many photos do you need to stop that? lol
and one should always compliment a woman on weight loss, zombie or not
one day I'm just gonna change my avatar and then you'll just have to be nice...or tressa-nice :)

message 97: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Ah, when you change your avatar to the real you, then the zombie jokes will stop, or at least level out to Tressa-nice, which sometimes hovers between Gilles de Rais and Kathy Griffin.

message 98: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments Gilles De Rais? are you saying I look like a young boy? is it the short hair? LOL
in no world would I be cruel enough to compare you to Kathy Griffin

message 99: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Sweetheart, you misread my comment. I was talking about the scale of Tressa-nice, which can be found somewhere on the spectrum between Gilles de Rais and Kathy Griffin.

message 100: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments oh, sorry, yes grrrr AS braaaaains
ok, so it's either avatar change or zombie cracks, I guess :)
