Shay | 923 comments I've been sick so I've been reading a lot of fluffy books. So, I'm not too far behind. I do, however, have a huge stack of historical fiction, non-fiction, classics that I just haven't been up to reading. I keep picking them up, reading a few pages and find myself wondering what I just read.

Yes, I'm a moody reader. I have to read what I want to read at that moment or I just don't want to read at all. That's why I have so many books going at once.

message 64: by Sashana (new)

Sashana I'm a moody reader as well. That's why I can't finish certain challenges.

Carol (peppersgirl) | 113 comments Lisa Kay I think I remember someone saying that re-reads count.

message 72: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments They do! ☺ Within the same year?

message 73: by Lisa S (new)

Lisa S (kasey_k_fan) Lisa Kay, how is Killing Me Softly (Secrets of Shadow Falls, #1) by Maggie Shayne ? I've had this for a while but never got to it yet.

message 74: by Carol (new)

Carol (peppersgirl) | 113 comments I'm not sure if they count within the same year. Does anyone else know?

message 75: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Lisa S.

I figured out the killer of Killing Me Softly (Secrets of Shadow Falls, #1) by Maggie Shayne right away. But, I like the "voice" of the author. I haven't read the second one, Lisa, but probably will. The author is one of those who just needs a bit of... not polish... maybe in need of a better editor (?); however, I'm not sure that is the person who would tip her over the line into a four or five star read. Do you know what I mean? Is it the editor that does that? This is the second one of her books I've read, and I felt the say way about the first. Kind of like you're holding your breath and groaning b/c it almost made it to that higher level.

Thanks. I have read several of this author and I liked them. I keep looking at this book, but never seem to pick it up. I actually own all 3 in this series.

message 77: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments I own all three too, Lisa! ☺

message 78: by Shay (new)

Shay | 923 comments Carol wrote: "I'm not sure if they count within the same year. Does anyone else know?"

I don't think rereads count in the same year. I'm not sure why- I know it's a "rule" of other groups, but I'm not sure specifically if it's a rule in this group. But, ultimately, these are personal reading goals/challenges. So, I don't care if someone does count them if they believe it counts.

message 79: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments I checked all the pages of my 2011 GoodReads Challenge and, though I marked A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #2) by Kresley Cole as read/finished on two different dates, it only shows up once and is counted in the total once.

As far as GR is concerned, they only count it once. I think that on the edit review page, you can click on a button for "more options" you can mark how many times you've read it. I think other people have mentioned that if you use another edition of the book, it'll come up as a different book. So, GR will count it as being read twice.

message 81: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments I have done that with an audiobook, I think.

message 82: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Do you know if they start over on January 1st?

message 83: by Shay (new)

Shay | 923 comments Lisa Kay wrote: "Do you know if they start over on January 1st?"

No, I think once you've marked a book as read that's it. You can change the read date on an edition, but that would move it forward. So, if you read a book in 2011 and changed the "read" date to 2012 I think it would take it out of your 2011 books and move it to 2012.

Cute beagle! My husband debated whether to get a beagle / pug few years ago and we got a pug as our backyard isn't big enough for a beagle.

Jackie (wilssearch) | 31 comments Where do I find levels one and two? I am new to this site. I have not been keeping track of my reading this year and not doing any challenges, so I think I would like to start fresh next year - but I have almost 50 books I have read since mid September and I could put those of this years list.

Thanks! I've had Beagles my whole life they are the best dogs. They are pretty high energy for a small dog so they do need a lot of room though. Pugs are really cute too. I've been considering getting a puggle. They are half beagle and half pug and are really cute too. They have a pug face and coloring with beagle ears:)

I have a puggle. She is more pug than beagle though... mom was pug and dad was a puggle with dominate pug characterisitcs. She is the smartest and best dog I have ever had. She is almost eight years old and even though she is getting gray she is still smart as a whip. I recently taught her to "speak" and she knows as soon as I pick up my car keys it is crate time. She also knows that the sound of the TV turning off means bedtime at night. L.O.V.E. her!
