This is the first time I've ever tried an online Q & A session but it can't be more embarrassing that sitting in WH Smith for an hour while shoppers avoid catching your eye. I've written fourteen books, started by getting two books of poetry published then turned to prose when I hit 40. I've now written novels, military history, a cookery book and translated a bestseller on dog training. I've published these books every which way, from top publisher, through small presses to assisted and self-publishing - and now e-books.
