Sorry to say that I won't be there tonight after all--not feeling well today--but I am cheering you guys on in spirit!

Well, we didn't win, but we didn't embarrass ourselves, either. The questions were HARD, but the bonus questions were fun. Thanks, Callie and Vanessa (and Dan from Wales)!

1. There were at least 25-30 teams.
2. We were in Cambridge - the hub of intelligentsia
3. A group called "50 Shades of Grey Goose" won the title contest... yep, we were totally robbed.
4. We were tied for THIRD at one point(not fourth! more credit please!)
5. It was our first go at it!
Hence, next time we'll blow them out of the water!
Okay pep talk over. Go team!!

(Which reminds me I have to read Faith by next Wednesday...)

I'll be curious on your take of that book, Callie. It's one I read at the beginning of the year.

Tuesday's going to be tough for me, since it's the first day of school and I am on pickup duty. I'll keep an eye on the details and maybe I can sneak up (doubtful, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed).
Sorry to say an after-work thing is going to keep me away this time. I hope you'll post all the juicy recommendations here!

Do what works best for you regulars, but I could do 5p on Wed 9/13.
Go for Tues/Thurs, then since I'll bet 5p is too early for most of you anyway. I'll check back for book recs though, as if I need anymore ;-)

I'm out all next week, and the rest of this, but you guys should totally have fun and definitely meet up!

Here's another event for your calendar, and an invitation to join the newly-revitalized Boston Chapter of the Women's National Book Association. This is an organization of people of either gender who are interested in books and publishing. You do not have to have a professional connection to the industry. So that means you should all join!
Our first event of 2012 is a Yankee Swap (hmm, wonder where they got that idea :) on 9/28 from 6-8pm in the Grub Street offices. It's open to all -- just bring a wrapped book, new or gently-used. Learn more about WNBA at the event, or online at the website. http://www.wnbaboston.org/events.php

Looks like they have an interesting ticketed ($15) session on Friday night called Page to Screen

Love to meet up with you Boston-based BOTNS listeners some time.

Yet another amazing chat chalked full of laughs and great recs (plus a few ANTI-recs... always helpful for taking books OFF my TBR list).

I'm excited to head to the UK but I'm going to miss meeting up with you guys and chatting about books until Crema kicks us out. I will definitely keep you updated on the (better) UK book covers :-)
Hopefully we can plan more meet ups when I come home for visits.

Bon Voyage Jennifer. Look forward to alternate covers updates.

Anyone going to the Boston Book Festival on Saturday (a bit of a silly question, I realize)? We should all meet up and go to some of the events... maybe grab lunch somewhere afterwards? They have a pretty incredible line-up. Richard Ford, Lemony Snicket (in the flesh!) and I definitely have to be at the WBUR tent at 1:30pm to meet Tom Ashbrook - squee!!
Here's the schedule:
