TRON, the legacy, is strangely addictive. Jeff Bridges is a favourite of mine, has been ever since he played second fiddle to Charles Bronson in The Mechanic, and then to Clint Eastwood in the much underrated Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (some of George Kennedy's very best work in there, too). In TRON we get him twice, once as a man in late middle age (nobody's old these days until they hit 80!) and once 27 years younger, courtesy of computer wizardry.

This is a movie about a Utopia that went wrong, as all utopias do (except my bicycle, which is made by the most meticulous bike manufacturer in Germany). It is an action movie that convinces though, for a movie explicitly set inside an arcade game, the barrier of suspension of disbelief is only ankle-high.

Four stars for being better than The Tourist, which I watched the night before. If Hollywood still made decent movies for adults, Tron would rate two stars for being an inoffensive entertainment for the under-tens, and The Tourist would rate none.

Margaret (xenasmom) | 306 comments Traded the silver screen for the computer screen tonight. Just finished Tron-Legacy. What I first noticed was the soundtrack; there was a grandness to it and a promise of a final showdown. I was not familiar with the music of Daft Punk. Apparently there are two versions of the soundtrack.
The fast-paced action with the visuals was (for lack of a better word at the moment) awesome!
Bridges sure can make a statement just with his posture or facial expressions.
Kid that I am I can't wait to watch it again.
I give it a five for sheer entertainment.

I LOVED Tron Legacy! I ordered it through my netflix and I am so glad that I did. I loved the action of the movie, but most of all I loved the music! I really want to buy the soundtrack now :)

All in all the movie was amazing! Much better than I expected.
