John | 3 comments Interesting article. I don't understand why some of these people don't want their material published again. Maybe they think they are much better now!

Dan Schwent (akagunslinger) | 125 comments Someone told me about this when I mentioned Jason Statham in my review of The Wheelman. I like Statham but I don't see him making a good Parker.

message 7: by Adam (new)

Adam | 43 comments Statham is a terrible choice to play Parker.

message 8: by Jed (new)

Jed (specklebang) | 26 comments A movie called "Parker"?

Westlake must be spinning in his grave.

message 9: by Joseph (new)

Joseph Statham wouldn't be my first choice for Parker; Statham has a natural charisma he'd have to suppress to play the heartless Parker.
But after hearing about the possibilities of Leonardo DiCaprio for Travis McGee and Tom Cruise for Jack Reacher, Statham as Parker doesn't sound so bad...

message 10: by Adam (new)

Adam | 43 comments There's only one Travis McGee for me ... Rod Taylor. But I don't think Leonardo DiCaprio would be a bad choice. There was talk some time ago of Colin Farrell playing Travis McGee. I think Leo's a much better choice.

But Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher sounds like a joke. Isn't Jack Reacher supposed to 6'5" and more than 200 pounds?

message 11: by Adam (new)

Adam | 43 comments I guess it's not a joke: http://www.deadline.com/2011/07/tom-c...

"At the time, the author was among those most excited about the casting, saying that 'Reacher's size in the books is a metaphor for an unstoppable force, which Cruise portrays in his own way.'"

That's funny. I didn't realize that all the descriptions of Reacher's physical size were a metaphor in Lee Child's books. I wonder what other metaphors there are sprinkled throughout his novels that I've stupidly been taking literally all this time.

Mohammed Abdikhader Firdhiye (mohammedaosman) | 142 comments Interesting how Westlake would never allow anyone to touch the name Parker when they adapt the great noir series for lame films. But now whoever is in control of his works allows this. It is really bad taste.

I dont care Jack Reacher,Tom Cruise because Lee Child is too brain dead books for my taste.
