I hope so too! I read the excerpt and it's seems like a fun and interesting read. I hope that it'll be available here as well soon enough.
Perhaps I'll join her new group and ask her about it.

I guess that it has something to do with different copyright laws? I've never published an ebook so I don't know if people just forget to check a box or what.

Ugh...it sucks that you can't get Enclave -- it's one of my favorite Young Adult books ever.
I do have an explanation for you, though. The reason you can't get the ebook version overseas is because of international trade laws that govern the sale of digital content from a print publisher. What that means is that a publisher in your "rights" area has to buy the translation/publication rights to the book in order for it to be sold over there. This is VERY frustrating for the publisher, the author, and the reader.
To explain further...the reason you can get the US print version is because a bookseller will buy copies of the print book and sell it...but because of the international commerce laws, they can't buy ebooks and sell them.
For example, my Demonica books could be bought in print in the U.K., because they were bought directly from the U.S. by booksellers. But no one in the U.K. could get the ebooks. Then, last year, a U.K. publisher bought the rights to the books and are publishing both the print books and the ebooks...so my ebooks are now available in the U.K. and Commonwealth countries -- basically, anywhere the U.K. publisher holds publication and sales rights.
So that's how it works. Like I said, this is VERY frustrating, and publishers are hoping the laws will change as internet commerce becomes more common. One thing you can do is contact the author and ask if the publication rights have been sold in your country. She should know and can tell you the approximate publication date, as well (if she knows.)
Hope that helps, and I hope Enclave is available to you soon. It's fabulous!

It helps to know that the frustration isn't only on the readers end of things.

Thanks for the tips, they look promising and while checking them out I discovered that Enclave has finally become available for my Kindle.
So it's now paid for and downloaded and I'll be offline for a few days to read.

For economical reasons I don't buy hardcover books, as I usually can get at least two paperbacks for the same money and I love books, so I want as many as possible.
I was really intrigued by this story, so I thought that I would pick up the ebook instead, but found that it's not available in Europe!
Why, oh why do we have these regional rights?!
