Are you about to read a book you'd like to discuss with others? Post the title/author here, and see who is interested! As soon as you have one other person, you can start your own thread for that book (or series or author, if you like.)

Urban Fantasy fans:
Anyone interested in reading and discussing Hounded, the first book in the new Iron Druid Chronicles? I bought it last night after some recs on MR and plan to read it next, but I can hold off a little while if needed. (I like to discuss while fresh.)

Hounded should fit right in with Daemons Are Forever (a buddy read coming up in the future).
Do you have the ebook or the DTB? God I hate Agency6.

Ebook. I'm not fond of Agency either but it was $7.99 so I thought that was fairly reasonable. I also like that the first three were made available at about the same time instead of like a year later. :)
I'm getting into UF too. 6 months ago I don't think I even knew what UF was.

Thanks for mentioning that - I've had Hunger Games for a while and forgot about it. I'm going to start it tonight. :)

you're welcome, I just finished it today and I'm still debating if I should start the second book tonight because if I do I probably won't get any sleep

Dawdler, did you start it? I think the second was almost or just as good as the first.
I have been wanting to read Eon: Dragoneye Reborn and have heard great things about it. It is fantasy, anybody interested?
For UF I will be reading the new Chicagoland Vampires Hard Bitten and Night Huntress 5, This Side of the Grave. Also, Kate Daniels 5 Magic Slays comes out at the end of the month. I recommend all of these series, especially Night Huntress. I think it is my favourite UF series, with Kate Daniels a close second. If anybody is interested in reading any of them, let me know!

Care, I did start reading the second book and I got about a third into the book and probably would have got further if my book light hadn't gone out on me.

Is anybody interested in reading The Wheel of Time? Either for the first time or a re-read? I want to read the series again before the final book is released next year. It would be a perfect time to re-read or start the series for the first time. There is LOTS to talk about with it too. So many theories and discussions can be had.
For those that don't know The Wheel of Time is an epic fantasy series that has a vast world with many characters. It is in a world where some people have an ability called channeling, it is like magic but the word magic is never used. 3,000 years before the world was ripped apart by men channelers who locked the Dark One away in a prison, but the DO backlashed and tainted the male half of the true source (where their abilities come from). The men went mad and killed their families and almost destroyed the whole world. The "Dragon" was the leader and did the most damage so his name is feared even 3,000 years later. There is a prophesy that the Dragon will be reborn and the story starts with a group of young people that will eventually all have a huge part to play in the eventual Dragon coming and fighting the Dark One when he escapes his prison.
I have been reading this series for almost 15 years and it is still my favourite series. The characters feel like my family and friends now, and reading any of the books makes me feel at home. I am kind of obsessed.
Hmmm... The Wheel of Time sounds very interesting, and I'm tempted but I may wait till next year when I'm going to be tracking only page counts instead of total books. Or, if I get ahead again on my challenge this year. (Every time I get ahead I seem to take a couple months off and lose my lead and then some.)

Yeah. I looked at the page counts on Wikipedia's series page before posting my comment above. The total series is over 11,000 pages. That's intimidating. But I'm thinking about it.

I think I mentioned in my thread that I was trying to do 50,000 pages, not really count books this year. I am not going to make it this year. These would help though. Another good thing is that every library (even my tiny one) has all the audiobooks and they are really good. It is a husband and wife and he does the male POVs and she does the female POVs. That could be a way to sneak in some few 1,000 pages.
