Here are some of the things I have in my wish list:

the wishlist on my kindle is over 50 books long (my goodreads wishlist/to-read shelves are just part of it!)

I use my wishlist in a similar way. If I see something I might like to read someday if the opportunity presents itself, I put it on my GR's wishlist. If there's something I have to have (like Mr. Mercedes or The Book of Life), I will buy them right away.
I'll give more weight to picking up a Kindle Deal of the Day if it's already on my wishlist. But, just being on my wishlist is no guarantee that I will buy it.
I also use my wishlist if I'm gophering for a challenge and there's nothing on my tbr that fits. (Gophering is a term we've coined on YLTO that describes when we are picking books for challenges, topplers, etc.)
I've kept my wishlist on Audible for their sales. One of these days, I'll cross reference the two wishlists.

Online shopping puts these books as a priority but just browsing at a real store.....they aren't particularly in my thoughts. :)

I reckon we should do a buddy read for Mr. Mercedes - I know it's not out yet but I'm excited!

@Sarah: if we're doing a buddy read for Mr. Mercedes I'm definitely in - I have also marked it as TBR although it hasn't been published yet. King's books are those that I need to own.

I don't have a wish list. I only have a huge TBR list here on GR. These are the ones I want to read someday and it just keeps growing ever longer.
I keep a list of all of the books I own and have not read yet. I add to it as I buy them and remove them as I read them. The list never seems to get smaller although I have seen a small decrease over the last couple of months because I have tried really hard to find books I already have for challenges, or borrow from the library.
Oh, I forgot. I have a list of audio books on my iPod for when I go to the library. Mostly they are for favorite narrators.

LOL

One of these nights when I have nothing to do, I'm going to have to weed out my wishlist.

When anyone mentions that 130 to buy and 1000 books on the TBR is insane....I can tell them about you other crazy people!

Buddy read sounds good I'll have to go (twist my arm ugh!) Per order Mr Mercedes at audible. It is will Patton narrating.

My preference for Mr. Mercedes is audiobook as well. We can set up a buddy read for it when it's published.

Who you calling crazy?? ROFL!

Give it a couple of months, Suzanne. Your wish list will be as long as some of ours before long. Every month there is a new challenge and group read nominations and you will be adding books right and left because they all sound so good. I think I may have two of your five books on my TBR list of

I just ordered Mr. Mercedes today - they (Adlibris) promised to send it within 2-5 working days. I thought it would be published in June? Must have been mistaken.
