Has anyone started watching this series?
It's based off a book series. I've seen the first two episodes and I am hooked! Now, I REALLY want to read the series!

Without spoiling anything... Was anyone really sad by what happens at the very end of episode 2?

stormhawk | 1184 comments I read this book last year in preparation for the series. I'd say HBO is doing a really good job. Yeah, there's a lot of unpleasantness, but it's an amazing story. I can't wait for the next book, coming out this July. Wish it were sooner!!

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 13 comments This is my new "Lost"! I lovethis series and can't wait for the next episode. I have the first book on my kindle. It has all my favourite stuff. Sf/fantasy, treason, murder, sex, violence! Bloody brilliant and I can't help but crush over jaime. He is evil but I do love the bad boys!

Helen I can't get it on my freeview in UK but read the first three books thinking they were a trilogy. They were brilliant. I've been waiting for him to finish the series ever since.

Lacy (lacy_stewart) I have the first two episodes saved on my dvr and I just ordered the first four books. Since everyone is liking it, I'm going to watch the episodes tonight after the kids are in bed!

The 3rd episode is supposed to be on tonight! I'm excited.
I put the 1st book onto my Nook, but haven't read it yet. I think I might start it tonight or tomorrow! :)

Helen I'm wondering whether its worth £24 to buy the first 4 books again on my kindle.

I have these in epub format. If you like I can email them to you.

I have them in epub too! :) I definitely think they are worth it. I'm loving the first book and I love that the show stays true to the books!

Lacy (lacy_stewart) I got my books, but...my dvr deleted the second episode. I only got to watch the first one and my free preview is over. Oh well. I'll just read the books first!

That stinks! You might be able to find the episode online...

Lacy (lacy_stewart) I know! I'll just read the first book soon and then sneak back here to read if it is still a hit. Maybe I will want to buy the season when it comes out!

Helen That would be brilliant Jackie, I'll send you my email thank you :)

Mawgojzeta I am really happy with how the show is working out. Having read the books, there are certainly moments in the show that I wish were just a titch different, but I can live with that.

My boyfriend, who has not read the books, seems to enjoy it as well. But, he is not a detail-man and I am afraid he is already failing to keep up with all the characters. I suspect, as time goes by, his interest will die out because he will miss so many of the connections and tiny details.

My boyfrien..."

I'm not very far into the first book, but I was kind of upset that they haven't been showing Ghost. I mean, they showed him as a pup that one time in the first episode... but that was it!

Mawgojzeta Joy: That is one thing that has been bothering me a bit, but I am trying to be patient. None of the direwolves get nearly as much attention as I think they should. Which, I guess, means that bothers me more than "a titch". I keep trying to remember how big this story is and empathize with decisions made to get viewers that have not read the books. I suspect they worried that too much focus on the wolves would slow the story down to a pace beyond the level many people new to the story would accept. They will hopefully, over time, still manage to show the importance of these animals.

I am hoping so! I love the wolves, and I think that it is a key part (at least in the amount I have read). Maybe they are just trying to introduce the wolves a little more slowly... :/

Yay! They FINALLY showed Ghost! It was only for a second though. :(

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) A very good show. My husband and I haven't seen the newest season, but I hear it's pretty good. I am anxiously hoping that the next book comes out soon, though my hopes aren't very high. :/ It's been years since "A Dance With Dragons" was published.
