Bnoir, I am reading The Year of the Death of Richardo Ries right now.. about 100 pages from the end. I am having a hard time caring about the politcal stuff he tosses in there, but the overall story is gripping.

I have also read Blindness (my favorite!), Seeing, All the Names, The Double, The Cave (second favorite) and have The History of Lisbon sitting on my bookshelf waiting its turn to be read. I plan on reading all his novels ... He is one of my favorite authors!
