Thanks! :) I'm excited, and completely scared! I actually had a mini panic attack when I started thinking...
What if no one likes it?

Yeah, I'm writing a book. Its YA and I am writing from the middle to the end and then the beginning, because I hate starting off the first chapter. I don't know how many times I have re-written e plan for the story. Do you plan or just dive straight in?

Its depends on the genre.
For instance:
I have a fantasy series that I literally had to take approx. 6 months to plan and research before I could write. The plot was so detailed that I needed to plan.
With short stories, I just start writing...
With YA, I prefer to have an outline and my research, but not as involved with the planning as with my fantasy series. lol
With the book I am coming out with in August, most of it is creativity, which means I didn't have to do much in the way of research. However, I did have to plan out the storyline. :) Plus when I planned out the storyline I changed a lot. I mean, seriously... I started with the basics and as I thought about the plot became more and more detailed. Even in the editing process, it's common to change things up. :)

Well I got the idea for my book in September 2010 and I am going to start writing after scrapping a few first chapters after my exams.

Patricia wrote: "Congratulations Joy! I didn't know you were a writer. You'll have to be sure and remind us when it's released in August."
I've never thought about video blogs, but it is an interesting concept. :)
I will remind everyone in August! :) I'm excited, and really nervous, but I am glad I have such a large support network. :)

Until my book release in August, I am posting clips of a short story about the main character from my book. The short story takes place BEFORE the book I have written. If you go to my author page on GR, you can see the first clip. I will be putting up the second clip tonight or tomorrow. :)
Since I trust my members, do you think I should just do the one short story between now and August 1st? Do you think it would be better if I did several? I could definitely use some advice and I think of all of you as family. :)

I was looking at the most popular books coming out in August, and my book is #62!
I did some research and in the US alone, 24,000 books come out each month. Which means, out of 24,000 books mine is #62! I'm so excited! I just had to tell you all! :)

I'm at #61 now! :) Thanks for the congrats! I'm on cloud nine. My artist just finished the cover for the second book in the series and it is AMAZING! I'm going to put it up with the synopsis tomorrow. :)

It is amazing! And your writing is great! Don't worry! :) I can't wait to read ALL of them! and I don't want to wait!!

No later than August 1st. Although, I am secretly hoping to have it up by July 26th. lol It will also be available on B&N, Smashwords, Ibookstore, etc.
I'm considering posting a contest to giveaway an ebook copy to one of the Book Haven members, but I'm having trouble thinking of something creative...

(I must say that your cover art is quite striking. Far better than a lot of other recently published books I've seen.)
