Cyndi Goodgame I am an Indie author and am wowed by the fact that there are so many of us. It is a thrill to see their books hit several book lists here on the web. I have been on a recent drive to read more indie than other. Pride, I guess for them. My book is FREE this weekend on Amazon for YA fantasy lovers. Virginia Llorca | 51 comments Outside Plumbing: the Myths of Manhood is my first non-fiction book. It is a light-hearted look at what it is that makes a guy a guy. I promise it will give you a new perspective. Good sized samples at either site will rope you in. First review from a male: "You manage to discuss it without sounding bitchy." Fun with a grain of truth.

Jack Everett (jack_59) | 7 comments Our Novel The Diamond Seekers is fresh out with 6 five*and 4 four* reviews in its 1st few days. Available on Nook and Kindle or in TPB

When a courier for the powerful crime family descended from Niccolo Machiavelli realizes he's being followed by a rival family assassin, he takes a detour through the English countryside to shake his pursuer. He manages to hide his precious cargo a fortune in blood diamonds from Sierra Leone before his pursuer collides with an English family on a holiday drive.

The courier drowns in a swollen river; the mother and son die in the crash. The father is emotionally devastated, and retires in despair from his MI5 cipher career.

Five years later, the head of the Machiavelli crime family, Alberto Lorente, is still in pursuit of his missing diamonds and is ready to launch an ambitious scheme to recover them. What follows is a twisted trail of murder, kidnapping and layers upon layers of subterfuge.

The British Security Services are seriously compromised, but no one knows how or by whom. And suddenly, our former MI5 cipher expert is on everyone s shopping list.

Gerald Pruett | 39 comments I would like to introduce my new eBook, Conjoined Souls. It can be found through the following link, https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

For a limited time use the following coupon code ER45W and receive this eBook for free. The coupon expires on 9/17/2012

The synopsis for Conjoined Souls:

Samantha (Sam) Brennan and Alexandra (Alex) McNulty were conjoined twins in a past life and identical twins separated at birth in this life. For ninety years, their souls had remained tethered to one another.

Days before Sam’s twentieth birthday (as well as Alex’s), Sam had ended up in a coma after becoming collateral damage of an attack on a Seattle judge.

Three years and a few months later, Alex—now a rookie police officer from Saint Louis, Missouri—gets lured into a home while being off duty and smothered by something that had a strange odor.

Sam wakes up from her coma while struggling to breath, and after realizing that she was safe in a Seattle hospital, she proclaims that she is Officer Alexandra McNulty of the Saint Louis Police Department.

As Sam’s adopted mother Pamela (Pam) Brennan attempts to convince Sam/Alex that she was Sam by showing her photos of Sam’s high school graduation and of Sam’s graduation party, Sam/Alex correctly figures out that she (while believing that she is Alex) and Sam were identical twins separated at birth, and then made a request for Pam to look up her Facebook page.

Once Pam became convinced that Sam/Alex was Alex in Sam’s body, Pam had helped Sam/Alex to get to Saint Louis so that Sam/Alex could figure out who had attacked her.

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 284 comments PIERCING the ELASTIC LIMIT, my newest Epic Fable is FREE on Kindle until Wed October 3rd & if you don’t have one, it’s been picked as the October free giveaway by the Time Travel Group, so enter the contest & if you win I’ll send you a copy that has been signed by me in this, my current Time Frame.

If you have a Kindle & win, I’ll still send you one if you wish, no problem there.

My Epic Fables are page-turners, simply told tales that encompass larger, universal human concerns & the term Elastic Limit has several connotations, one being your own imagination.

This book has gotten great feedback & for other than the normal SiFi reasons, given that real people are involved in such an adventurous historical mystery & all with an added, deeper meaning.

It’s also free for members of Kindle Library until late October & I’ll reup if the response dictates, but for 5 days it’s a totally free download for Kindle users.

It’d be a great weekend read for free.

Mike Meyer | 103 comments In these tough, polarizing political days, stress often rears its ugly head. We all know that laughter is healthy, so why not take a break and get some some good, healthy laughs in at the expense of the eccentric folks at Famous Union College, where, for the price of a hamburger, you can get a few hours respite from the toils of the day.

A ROLLICKING ROMP THROUGH THE HALLS OF ACADEMIA, the comically paralyzed setting is a microcosm of today's often seemingly dysfunctional society at large.

Famous Union is a pretty little college with expensive fountains, cute coeds, and brand new artificial turf on the football field. It seems like the perfect place to work, but not all is as it seems, especially when bungling administrators create theater-of-the-absurd conditions in this once very proud institution of higher learning. Hampered by severe budgetary problems, the powers-that-be at Famous Union College create situations that bring about comical chaos for faculty and students alike. How will the often eccentric characters cope with the drastic changes suddenly thrust upon them, where compromise is a four-letter word? Famous Union College is a place where what is what is not.

R.G. Porter (rgporter) | 4 comments I've read quite a few indies and liked most of what I've read. Shea MacLeod, Tara West, Stephanie Abbott to name a few.

Being an indie is anything but easy, that's for sure. Getting proper cover art done and hiring professional editor is all time consuming, but for those of us who love writing, there is not question about doing it.

As for me, I write a few different genres. From Fantasy to paranormal to horror. I'm also dabbling in a new paranormal detective story. :) Feel free to visit my site www.rgporter.net (its had a nice make over done.)

Ken Lang (drkenlang) For those of you who enjoy reading indie authors who write true crime, here are my first two books: Walking Among the Dead and Standing In Death's Shadows.

Walking Among The Dead by Ken Lang Standing in Death's Shadow by Ken Lang

These are true homicide investigations I handled while working as a homicide detective near Baltimore, MD. The final book of the series, Death Comes Uninvited is scheduled to be released Oct 30, 2012. This book wraps up my time in the unit.

Reviewers have commented that the story is a book version of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. I hope you'll look at the reviews and see if this is something up your alley.

Forrest Hi, all! Please find my newest release on amazon, From Caïna to Jedecca, available now. This Victorian romantic tragedy is a departure from my usual forays into speculative fiction. It concerns the love and affairs of a Pre-Raphaelite painter in Victorian England. This novel is the culmination of many years of study of the Pre-Raphaelites which began in my earlier college days as a student in a senior research seminar on Victorian Art & Literature. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it or see your reviews. Enjoy!

"5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT...LOVE IT! December 14, 2012 By Amazonian:
I read this book constantly not wanting to put it down and now I'm done. It's fantastic! I laughed, cried, yelled and even wanted to reach through my Kindle and shoot some people myself. Old characters are back and new ones ... some good and some bad. New adversaries and old ones, new friends also. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this saga. Looking forward to the next part."

The series should be read in the following order:
Voyage of the Dead
Flotilla of the Dead
Deluge of the Dead

Before I became an indie author, I shopped online based on what Amazon featured on the ebook screen--books that are already doing well. After publishing my own book, I started sampling indie authors I encountered on other sites and following notices of free books. My book has done very well locally, where people know my name and go to a store and ask for it. Online, buyers started with family and friends and their friends. It's moved a little beyond that, but not much, I think. Going free on Christmas day--we'll see if the circle widens significantly.
