What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

On the wall in the children's department of Barnes & Noble by me is a blue storybook character. He looks like he has quills? Or maybe it is just fur? He is carrying a green suitcase. His face has a pointy snout, maybe like a ferret? No one seems to know who he is. Any ideas?

It looks like this author Jacklyn Cushman aka Jacklyn Williams has a picture book series featuring a hedgehog named Gus?

I posted a picture a friend took, it is sideways (sorry, snagged from his Facebook). It is posted under Pictures over at the right side of this page.

Hmm. A lot different than I was expecting! It's not familiar, but for what it's worth, to me it looks like a wolf carrying a book.

I will admit now, I work in this kid's department. A teacher challenged her kids to name the character. Parents and kids started calling. None of us have any idea. Yet all the other characters on the wall, are familiar, so someone must know who this is!!! LOL

What's frustrating is that the style looks SO familiar. Quentin Blake, maybe? William Steig?

I posted it on my Facebook profile asking for help...I'll let you know if I get any leads!

It also looks similar to the style of Lucy Cousins who wrote the Maisie books.

(that isn't a Maisie book, Maisie is a white mouse)

Yes, it does! I'll look tomorrow and see if I can find any of her books with that character in them!
