Bethany So, I saw this in another book group and I like it. It's fun to see what pile of books people are preparing to read. I made it 5 books because I was trying not to get too crazy :) but, some of us may have more. Basically, just tell us about your upcoming reads.

Here are my next five, and I must say...I'm excited!
Wither (Chemical Garden, #1) by Lauren DeStefano Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins Eona The Last Dragoneye (Eon, #2) by Alison Goodman Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver Entwined by Heather Dixon

*Suzy (ereaderuser)* (suzyereaderuser) I'm impressed that you guys have them all lined up and ready to go. I have such a hard time deciding what to read each time I finish a book.

Suzy ~ that comes from having a "hold list" at the library - I get emailed when they're ready and put them in order of when they're due back! :)

*Suzy (ereaderuser)* (suzyereaderuser) Totally logical! :)

message 6: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I'm like Jen. I have three books on hold at the library. Plus I have my nook. I just have a super long tbr list.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha you guys are insane! I can barely decide what book I'm gonna read next, let alone 2nd - 5th!

message 8: by Julie (last edited May 14, 2011 06:02AM) (new)

Julie I have these waiting for me that I checked out from the library so they are next.

Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins Split by Swati Avasthi Infinity (Chronicles of Nick, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Ship Breaker (Ship Breaker, #1) by Paolo Bacigalupi .
Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth and The Line (Line #1) by Teri Hall are waiting for me to pick up so they would be after that

message 9: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Yeah, hex hall! I've wanted to read Infinity...let me know how it is. I started the Ship Breaker, but I never finished it. I'm gonna go back to it someday. I like the cover for Split...makes me curious to know what it's about.

message 10: by Paula (new)

Paula Williams (daystealer) | 42 comments I have an impulse problem. I have my TBR BOOKCASE with books waiting in line, but every week I buy another and they all get shoved back by one. Latest "next five" are:
Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black Girl in the Arena by Lise Haines The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness The Ask and the Answer (Chaos Walking, #2) by Patrick Ness
Have any of you read Girl in the Arena -- is it worth cracking the cover?

message 11: by Emma (new)

Emma I have so many unread books! Deciding what to read is not easy lol, but this is my line up. Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth Inside Out (Insider, #1) by Maria V. Snyder The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner Solitary by Alexander Smith Deadline (Newsflesh, #2) by Mira Grant

I read a couple chapter of Girl in the Arena by Lise Haines a while ago and definately want to go back and read it all.

Paula, I haven't read it, but it sounds interesting! :)

message 14: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 76 comments OK, I *think* this is my order - but let me tell you, my TBR bookshelf is NUTS!!!!!

Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand Rot & Ruin (Benny Imura, #1) by Jonathan Maberry City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare Wither (Chemical Garden, #1) by Lauren DeStefano

message 15: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Ooo...I LOVE Unwind. It was so good. He's becoming one of my favorite authors. Unearthly is good too, one of my favorites.

WHOA! Hang on....you haven't read City of Bones yet? Oh man, put that at the top of your list!!! Katherine, Katherine, Katherine...

message 16: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 76 comments NO! I know, I know - it's horrible. LOL! I have been so cracked out with nursing school that I haven't read much of anything *FUN* over the 18 months! I'm going to read Unwind first - just downloaded it to the Kindle. Then maybe I will move City of Bones... LOL!

message 17: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Well, as hard as it is for me to say this...you should put CofB off until you have time, because there are now four books and they are definitely 'can't put em down' kinda books.

message 18: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 76 comments Lucky for me, I have no nursing this summer - summer off!! Well, except for still statistics. But that won't hinder my reading. Muahahah!

I read Girl in the Arena a few months ago and while it wasn't the worst book I have ever read it definitely wasn't the best book out there.

message 20: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amonika) My next 5 are Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse, #11) by Charlaine Harris Ink Exchange (Wicked Lovely, #2) by Melissa Marr Fragile Eternity (Wicked Lovely, #3) by Melissa Marr Radiant Shadows (Wicked Lovely, #4) by Melissa Marr Darkest Mercy (Wicked Lovely, #5) by Melissa Marr

message 21: by Steph (new)

Steph (somethingplace) | 18 comments Wow, I'm jealous that you guys can put your books in order. I've tried to do this before and always go off track! But then I always have trouble deciding what to read next so I really should put them in order. I have over 80 books in my house that I haven't read and I keep buying more.
:x

Rough estimate of what YA books I have in line to read soon:
The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #5) by Rick Riordan Bumped (Bumped, #1) by Megan McCafferty The Goddess Test (Goddess Test #1) by Aimee Carter Jane by April Lindner Enclave (Razorland, #1) by Ann Aguirre

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

The last Percy Jackson book is so good! It's by far my favorite of the series!

message 23: by Candice (new)

Candice (thecrj) I enjoyed Jane. Haven't read the original, but thought this could ease me into the classic. Looking forward to Enclave.

message 24: by Katherine (new)

lézengő reader (kergezerge) Amy wrote: "Haha you guys are insane! I can barely decide what book I'm gonna read next, let alone 2nd - 5th!"

Ditto! :D But now I have to read one, because yesterday I just won a copy and got it signed by the author, so want to write something about it, and one because it's time to take it back to the library and one which is a sequel of a favourite. No 4th and 5th. ;)
A türkizkék hegedű by Baráth Katalin Ocean Sea by Alessandro Baricco The Dead-Tossed Waves (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #2) by Carrie Ryan

Steph (somethingplace) | 18 comments Amy wrote: "The last Percy Jackson book is so good! It's by far my favorite of the series!"

Just finished it last night. I really loved it! I think that one and The Titan's Curse were my favorites of the series.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Jen wrote: Amy ~ you talking about the Lost Hero? I loved that one, although I missed Percy! Can't wait for Son of Neptune!

Nah...I was talking about The Last Olympian! Which has been my favorite so far. But The Lost Hero is definitely a close second! I'm really excited for Son of Neptune too! Should be really good!!

Stephanie wrote: Just finished it last night. I really loved it! I think that one and The Titan's Curse were my favorites of the series. "

I'm so glad you liked it Stephanie! Yay! Now you need to read The Lost Hero!! :)

message 31: by Jen (new)

Jen (baynej) | 169 comments Percy Jackson is one of my favorite series!

message 32: by Julie (new)

Julie I'm getting ready to start Stay by Deb Caletti and I have The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson Graveminder by Melissa Marr City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare Beauty Queens by Libba Bray and Young Pioneers by Rose Wilder Lane after that, in no particular order.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

OOhhh! Let me know how Beauty Queens is! That one sounds very...odd, but in a good way. And Libba Bray is so funny!

message 34: by Julie (new)

Julie I've never read one of her books but I'm really excited for it...it seems like it'll be really funny and a great summer read.

message 35: by Steph (new)

Steph (somethingplace) | 18 comments Julie wrote: "I've never read one of her books but I'm really excited for it...it seems like it'll be really funny and a great summer read."

I'm actually really excited to pick that one up after seeing some quotes from it floating around the internet. Definitely let us know how it is.

message 36: by Julie (new)

Julie So I just finished Beauty Queens by Libba Bray and I gave it 3 stars. It was an interesting story and there were definitely some parts that made me laugh out loud but I didn't love it. Mostly I just didn't care for the writing style. I do think you guys would probably like it though, but I don't think it's one you need to rush out and get.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks for the advice Julie! Hopefully I'll get to it at some point haha :)

I really enjoyed Lockdown, so I hope that you like it, too. However, it ends strangely and starts a series.

message 40: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Thanks Julie! It sounded really interesting and I was in the mood for something other than a paranormal romance. So, I hope I like it.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

I love the Strange Angels series Bethany! I just finished the fourth in the series Defiance (Strange Angels, #4) by Lilith Saintcrow

It's a really good series!! Hope you like it! :)

message 42: by Fred (new)

Fred (fr3dt3ch) | 4 comments These are books I'm reading to prepare for a book club group using dystopian novels. Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth XVI by Julia Karr Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie Brave New World by Aldous Huxley maybe Enclave (Razorland, #1) by Ann Aguirre since you guys are reading it.

message 43: by Sara (last edited Jul 02, 2011 02:41PM) (new)

Sara (madapple) VALIS by Philip K. Dick The Isle of Blood (The Monstrumologist, #3) by Rick Yancey Brave New World by Aldous Huxley Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood

Any feedback on these would be great.

message 44: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Sara...I read Brave New World in high school. It's a great classic dystopian novel, that's the only one I'm familiar with. I think you'll really enjoy it.

Next five...
Passion (Fallen, #3) by Lauren Kate Strange Angels (Strange Angels, #1) by Lilith Saintcrow Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury Eden by Keary Taylor The Pact by Jodi Picoult

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Sara, I'm sorry, I haven't read any of those ones! Haha let me know how you end up liking them!

I'm glad you reading Strange Angels Bethany. I think you'll really like it! And I'm so excited to read Eden!

message 46: by Teresa (new)

Teresa Myers (teresamyers) Sara, Brave New World is a classic and so that pretty much means it's not a favorite of mine. But I have close friends who really liked it. For me it's just a little boring.

message 47: by Julie (new)

Julie Sara, I really liked Fahrenheit 451

message 48: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (panda62897) | 16 comments Looking forward to reading: Birthmarked (Birthmarked, #1) by Caragh M. O'Brien Forever (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater Hollowland (The Hollows, #1) by Amanda Hocking Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie
Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis

message 49: by Chris (last edited Jul 05, 2011 09:54AM) (new)

Chris (necaros) | 26 comments Fahrenheit 451 is so closely tied to reading it really is mandatory! It's rather good as well.
I'm about half way through Year of the Flood right now, thought provoking, but it is not as good as Oryx and Crake so far.
Valis is on my list'o'reads, but PKD is usually pretty good. I liked Ubik allot, and would say it fits the genre, but it's not YA.

Jennifer, that's a great next five list!! You're gonna be in book heaven for the next couple weeks ;)
