Thanks, Bentley! Let's see who I can come up with...

Cornell Dupree, master studio and session guitarist has died May 8th.
He played with Stuff, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, Jimmy Hendrix, B.B.King - you name it.
Jazz, Blues, Soul, West Coast, anything - often with King Curtis, Steve Gadd, Eric Gale and Richard Tee.

Any guitar - so I thought I add Chic - Nile Rodgers' guitar changed entire careers when he started working for others (f.e. Diana Ross)

I couldn't find one of my favorite versions on YouTube.
It's from the London Howlin' Wolf Sessions with Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts
Howlin' gets irritated because those greenhorns just won't get it...

Michael Flanagan (loboz) Love or hate Heavy Metal you have to admit that some of the guitar players in this genre are some of the most technical proficient player around. Here is an interesting mash up of two of the greats Dave Mustane from Megadeth and Kirk Hammett from Metallica.

And to mellow out here is my all time favourite guitarist Dave Gilmour from Pink Floyd

And of course, his outro (with Bobby Whitlock on piano) on "Layla" is so familiar that most of us can hear it in our sleep. Someone said that "Layla" has the most identifiable seven note intro in rock history.

Jill Hutchinson (bucs1960) I think we did mention "Layla" somewhere. I remember when the "Unplugged" CD came out I thought......ooh, I am not going to like a slow acoustic version of the song but of course, I did.
My sister says" How can you like that song? It is such a cliche, like 'Freebird' or 'Stairway to Heaven'". But it remains in my top ten of rock songs, regardless of her opinion!!!
I think that "Layla and Other Love Songs" is a great album and their cover of Henrix's "Little Wing" isn't too bad either.
